Think I found the issue! I swapped from German local settings to English (US) local settings, regenerated runway data and tried again. It's working now! Landing score at 80.

We use a comma as decimal point and a "." to split the blocks of thousands, so that might screw up things somewhere...

Additionally, FSFS is initialising much much faster with the English (US) local settings and subjectively I had a better framerate during the flight as well (the later one might be due to different weather though, but could be ongoing calculations being wrong in the power of ten...).

About the flap thing with the A2A cub, should I go pester A2A about the flap specification in the aircraft.cfg file?

Hello Andi,

is it right, that you switched to English (US) settings within Windows?

As I am a German with local settings within Windows too, this could solve my problem.

Regards

Arndt

Indeed - the Windows-specific settings in the Control Panel (Systemsteuerung).

The second German posting with this issue (and no other nationalities having it, apparently) lead to my spark of intuition about the cause...

Hello Andi,

thank you!

I already gave it a try, and it worked perfectly!

So you found a workaround, and I hope that this can be basis for a patch.

Kind regards

Arndt

Andi:

Well done - good to see you are all set and also many thanks for sharing this.

The differences with commas, decimal points and so forth can certainly cause problems and we have written lots of code to deal with this over the years. We are writing more...

I certainly don't want us to be cause of pestering  and I am sure that we can make a small adjustment to the file to solve it.

We will try to get this done and tested and sent back to you shortly.

Andi:

We emailed you a modified version of the file yesterday - when you have a moment, please let us know what sort of results you get with it.

The file will hopefully stop the instructors talking about flaps.

It did, but it somehow lead to the aircraft tilting over nose-up after touchdown repeatedly, which in turn lead to a landing score of 0.

I posted on the A2A forums, too - they had a similar issue with FSPassengers X, but there you can disable flap penalties (which wouldn't kinda make sense for FSFS).

Alnor:

Please copy and paste the log for that flight into a reply here.

And also tell us:

Which runway did you touch down at?
Was flight plan loaded into FSFS?
If plan loaded - which runway was chosen by you as destination at FSFS flight plan screen?
Was NAV1 tuned to a NAVAID?
Did instructor announce the runway when you descended below 500 AGL?
