xrayjim (4/27/2009) Jeff,ole,garrick and joe,
Hope you all had a great weekend, and apologies for not being on the case sooner.. Garrick, I have printed off your final solution and plan to implement it soon as, and will keep you all posted as to progress...meantime anyone got any ideas as to how to get the brakes off? I have got hold of saitek proflight rudder pedals and am finding it hard to fly with brakes on...they do not want to release.. any ideas?
regards, jim
Hi Xrayjim
I have the same Saitek yoke/pedal set. Great thing, once you get the feel of it.
I too had problems with the brakes not being able to be completly off. You go into settings/controllers/axis and choose the pedals, in FSX/FS9 and put a little deadzone on it. and you need to add "reverse" to it too. then it should work like a charm. (Im not home right now, but I´ll check when I get home and post again.)
Regards

Hi all, and thanks again for all your help. I tried posting last night at work, but could not get through... Just an update, captain Garrick, I have just finished your master plan down to the disk check , which is running now..Just waiting for it to finish before the complete reinstall..Ole, thanks for the Brakes off issue advice, as soon as I am up and flying I shall apply it.. Have just been reading your final thoughts on WWT what a great way to fly..given me lots of hope that maybe (if mr smith lets me loose) I could progress from the cesssna too.
On another subject, any of you like gliding? I have sailors of the sky but what are your thoughts on Condor vs silent wings... and do you all use trackir?
regards,
xrayjim

Just to let you know, I do own a real DG-808S Racing Sail Plane (Glider). I saw it on FSX when it first was released, and the next year after FSX was released, I baught my self a new 'Man's Toy', the DG-808S Racing Sail Plane (Glider). I love it!!!! Buy the way what is trackir and sailors of the sky? I hope that my Microsoft Instructions part will help resolve any Microsoft Flight Simulator related issues for you. Jeff, has given you great advice on FSFS2009 on the installation issues too. Please go back and read from the link as follows from FL., "Jeff", concerning FSFlyingSchool Installations: http://www.fsflyingschool.com/forum/FindPost3729.aspx Keep us up to date on the progress of both programs. Sincerely, CaptGarrick.

Hope you will fly soon... Hawaii is close...
On another subject, any of you like gliding? I have sailors of the sky but what are your thoughts on Condor vs silent wings... and do you all use trackir? No gliderexperience. I have tried it in FSX of course, but cannot get it right, so I dont use those... Give me engines! TrackIR is one great device. I have the TrackIR4 pro, with that Vector pro clip and every thing, but I mostly just use the T-piece on my cap, when flying with it. Its really cool. Everybody should have a trackIR along with FSFlyingschool..... If youre interessered in the hardware we use - and to tell what you use, then look at this post Click here See you in the skies regards, xrayjim .

Hi Ole,
The response you have just qouted is quite interesting. I am still trying to figure out what TackIR or TrackIR4 is. Can you please tell me what that is, and, or send me a link as to where I can see what it looks like and read about it. I would Greatly appreciate it. FSX Sailing is easier than you think Ole, Just watch how a Hawk in the sky catches the thermal with his wings and watch wereandhowthey tilt there wings. It is an indication that there is lift in the area of there wings banking and the direction they head into as they bank their wings. You must have noticed how they grab lift even without flapping their wings? It goes thesame for gliders. But like you said "Give Me Engines"! Try the tutorials again in FSX and try the Hawk's way of flying. Remember to listen to the Variometer! .
Have a great weekend Ole!

Google it. TrackIR - its really very simple. Its a head tracking device. I even described it, I think in the hardware thread I made once and linked to in the above post.....
I think the company making TrackIR is called http://www.naturalpoint.com

I will look at that, and I just might buy it. However, I would like to know from your experience in using TrackIR, whether or not I should buy it. Just a general review on your part would be very beneficial for me as to what you rate it on. Did you already describe it before in the thread you made before? If So, Could you copy and paste the thread link on that subject? Thank you Ole. Cheers, Garrick.

Captain Garrick, ole, jeff,
Just to let you all know I have completed the final solution as suggested with a complete uninstall and reinstall of both fsx and fsfs2009....same problem, when I click on the fsfs icon, the egg timer goes for a few seconds then nothing happens... Captain Garrick, try http://www.sailorsofthesky.com/ It is a soaring simulator with a demo, worth a try..I will try a screen shot of the folder, the ini file is missing, even though hidden folders shuold be shown,
regards
jim
