Jim: Thanks for your interest in FSFS! Can you let me know what the exact problem is when you try to launch FSFlyingSchool? What happens - what do you see, or hear? Please send a screen shot of any problem and please send your settings.ini file from the FSFlyingSchool folder that contains the program you are launching. To send us a screen shot, press the Print Scrn (print screen) button on your PC keyboard to capture the entire screen and then PASTE that information into an email to us at support@fsflyingschool.com To PASTE the screen capture, simply press Ctrl V while typing in the body of an email to us. The email will need to be in HTML format (not plain text). Files can be sent to support@FSFlyingSchool.com I am sure we'll get things sorted out for you!

Jim: By default we would expect FSX=C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\
but this would only be correct if the FSX program was here... C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\FSX.exe You need to establish exactly where the FSX.exe program is and then put that path into the settings.ini file, with a \ on the end of the path and without the FSX.exe part. As a side note - you will also need to have installed FSUIPC 4 for the version of FSX that you have. To check it is working, make sure that it appears on the Add Ons menu inside FSX when you have an aircraft loaded ready to fly. If it does not, you need to install it.

xrayjim (4/21/2009) fsx.exe is located in c:\fsxgold\fsx.exe I have tried to get this to go but no joy...
jim
You should only put in the C:\fsxgold\
Not the fsx.exe part

Hi Jim, I have gone through the same thing as you have my first time, but I had resolved it by reinstalling FSFS, and doing a repair on my FSX Gold using the 3 DVD's. Do the following listed below. Check the following: (Location) FSFS= C:\Program Files\FSFlyingSchool\ (Location) FSX= C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\ In C:\Program Files\FSFlyingSchool\Settings Properties: You will find this as laid out when you open the settings Properties in notepad. You will see the following information below. [FS Folders] FS2002= FS2004=C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\ FSX=C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\ FlightPlan=C:\Documents and Settings\Garrick\My Documents\Flight Simulator X Files\ [Pilot] Your Name for the .plt will obviousely be different than mine. PilotFile=C:\Program Files\FSFlyingSchool\PilotRoster\Capt. Garrick Pattenden 2009 Air Canada.plt [Misc] This section is where you add your own info. TransitionAltitude=3500 EndFlight=2 Sounds not audible: check your sound card; also, make sure that you test the sound files in C:\Program Files\FSFlyingSchool\Sound: by playing them in Windows Media player. Make sure FSX is not set to ('Q' to turn off the sound in FSX). Check FSFlyingSchool Folder for the sound files, making sure they are installed. Read the .pdf file on page 32 in the FSFlyingSchoolManual. Should you need to, try a FSX Repair from your FSX Gold DVD set. Should you need more help, I am sure that the FSFS team and I can help you further. I hope this helps? Regards, CaptGarrick.

If I read you correct, its the actual FSFS that wont load? Did it load back when you used FSX in the other drive?
If its FSFS that wont load, then I suggest that you uninstall it. Don´t delete it, use the control-panel/add remove programs, and unstall FSFS. If you have already deleted it, then it can be a problem uninstalling it - you might have to reinstall it in order to unstall it. Sounds silly but I´ve experienced this several times... Its important to get the registry entries removed.
And then reinstall FSFS, and see if that works.
