Hi FSXCOP:

Whoa - many, many thanks for this early Christmas present. Anyone who gets the word out about our efforts is greatly appreciated here are FSInventions!

If everyone tells their friends we'll have all the more interest and all the more reasons to keep adding features! This year, FSFlyingSchool has 7 years of development within it.

Merry Christmas to you!

Squadron Leader, It's time again for......You guessed it,.......More feeble petty quibbling from me. No it's not intended to grind you into the dirt. Just to give you a heads up.

I have had a new issue pop up with a sudden disconnection. Here is how it happens.

1) I connect with FS Flying School after performing pre-flight checks of the A2A Cessna.
2) I have the plane cold and dark so I hit Ctrl-Shift-N to hear the start up procedure.
3) I sit on the tarmac until the engine temps rise and while I'm waiting it happens.

I figure out that FS Flying School has disconnected after the temps have gone up enough for the engine run up procedure. When I don't here, "Run up complete", I know to check the status of FS Flying School. I see the error message which is "ERROR 6 overflow Location: ProcessTCASGround".

I restart FS Flying School and everything works as before without sudden disconnection. I suppose it is a memory issue with my computer, but it just started coming up with the error with each flight lately so I was wondering if you might have some insight. Once again, Merry Christmas.

Hi FSXCOP:

Thanks for the detailed report - as you can imagine, the detail helps enormously when trying to solve puzzles.

The error is something we have seen before in rare cases and is something we are looking at but have no direct answer on at the moment - but the good news is that we know it is caused in relation to the instructor monitoring ground traffic at the airport while you are on the ground.

In rare cases, if there is a great deal of traffic, it causes a problem.

This did not occur on the PC before - and now it is - so something has changed.

Likely areas to consider would be that you are at a different airport, which has more planes than the previous airport, or that you have "Monitor ground traffic" turned on in FSFS and you did not before, or that you have increased the amount of air traffic overall in FSX...?

Does any of this ring any bells?

Squadron Leader,

I'm sure you hit the nail right on the head. For a few days now I have been flying out of Dupage Illinois airport at mid day. There are always a few planes parked near by and after a few minutes, they begin to taxi. I will uncheck monitor ground traffic and I expect it will solve the problem. I hate to remove any feature which enhances the immersion so hopefully the wizards at FSFlyingSchool will sort it all out. I remain as enthusiastic as ever about your software. Cheers.

Hi FSXCOP:

Excellent - give it a try!

It should only really be an issue if the traffic level is pretty high, so you could also try it with Monitor Ground Traffic left ON and reducing the amount of traffic.

But having said that, I cannot be sure what level will make the magic difference and if it is already low... erm... the concept breaks down.

Please give reducing traffic a go anyway and... see what happens.

Hi FSXCOP:

Whoa - many, many thanks for another Christmas present!

We made some progress on the A2A c172 by removing the "Throttle should be idle at landing" statement and penalty because in the end it appears we cannot use the 'throttle-number-one-lever-position' data we are getting from FSX when the A2A c172 is flying.

So you won't get bugged about that in the new FSFS PRO 2014.

Merry Christmas to you!

My post on the A2A forum was the victim of an internet troll. I did my best to shut him down and I even received help from an administrator. Anyhow, I hope I have convinced a few people to visit your downloads page.

Hi FSXCOP!

Wow - what an interesting read over on the A2A site!

Some folks really do see the glass as half empty. Life's too short for that and there are a lot of folks out there with real things to feel unhappy about.

Some folks really get into the Christmas Spirit, huh?

Thanks again for posting and congrats on the backup you got from several fine people at the A2A site!

Hello,

Did the P3D version ever get the update for the A2A C172? I'm running P3D v2 and am looking forward to installing the A2A 172 with FSflyingschool that supports it in P3D.

Thanks!
