Maybe if FSInventions would start allowing more scoring planes (like the ones ALREADY on the list that don't score, and FSInventions REFUSES to allow, or fix), then I will say something good in that forum.
It's not happening now. It seems that every other week FSInventions sends me an email asking for me to spend money to upgrade on something I've had for two+ years now...
FSInventions needs to concentrate on updating the current product (whatever version that is...), and not charging me a $20 bill for each upgrade -THAT'S how you earn customers.
I keep getting unwarranted soliciting emails asking for more $$$ for a product with little or any major upgrades...
Here's an idea: improve what you have on the market already before asking for more $$$...
The latest email (which I get EVERY OTHER DAY it seems): now you want ANOTHER 19.95 for me to learn NAV? Sorry, that should be a FREE perk for those of us who have stuck with you the past few years.
It's bad enough that the FS Instant Approach feature DOESN'T WORK (IN FSX -I don't even bother with it in FS9, 'cause you wont fix it) in the last version that I upgraded not long ago, now you want MORE MONEY? Tell me: WHAT HAVE YOU DONE LATELY to earn that? Imo: nothing...
Imo FSInventions, you are becoming a money grab site -meaning you want to make maximum dollar intake with minimum investment on your end. You keep spending money on advertising to get more peeps to buy FSFS, but you won't spend money to keep current customers satisfied -unless of course "current customers" keep pulling out the plastic...
I keep going back to my original beef with you, FSInventions: You won't upgrade the plane scoring list, but keep adding on little nonsensical chicken crap stuff that we need to spend a 20 on each time to have....
Better yet, quit beating around the bush: if you don't (OR AREN'T) going to ever update the scoring list, then TELL US, and quit lying about it.
Imo you will NEVER upgrade it. You have always PROMISED to do so, but those promises have been nothing but false lies...
It's called greed, and you are severely exploiting the flight simming community CONSTANTLY with these kind of money-grab shenanigans...

Btw, I copied this post, and will post it to AVSIM or the many other sites that I used to brag you guys up on -along with my side dish of 'eating crow' for bragging up a dev that just wants more and more MONEY...

No one has to upgrade - there is no requirement to upgrade.
We support all our products including those which are 7 years old.

A great deal of work goes into each new version of the product and as you can imagine this is not done for free. The best part is that people can upgrade if they wish and do not need to if they do not wish to.

It's $19.95 to upgrade, from any version of FSFS even if it is 7 years old, to the latest version, which contains lots of features added to the previous version above and beyond VOR help, such as 2 airplane detail packs and Advanced Approaches and Voice Command Deluxe.

It does work. We sell it a lot. We are not in receipt of a stream of messages from people telling us it does not work.

I am not sure how I follow how you can represent to know how we spend our money.

We pursue directions that people write to us about. One of them is adding more planes to the list of planes that can score. But there are many more directions. We cannot do all of them at once and we pursue those which we have determined will please our customers most. Recently requested features, by forum, email and surveys, which stand out are more approach features, more voice commands, more detail packs and more VOR help - we do all of those in FSFS PRO 2014.

I am not sure I follow your description of the features we've been adding or the completely optional upgrade policy we have.

Sorry to read you feel that way - we certainly listen to and care about our customers. We write features that they request and offer them optionally to folks who are interested, with free demos of everything we publish, without time limits.

Sorry for throwing in my two cents here... I have used FSFlyingSchool since version one, in 2007, and it is the only addon I would never consider flying without.

As stated above, I have used FSFlyingSchool since version one, and if I had never upgraded it, I would still have a top notch product seven years later, and so would everyone else who DECIDED not to upgrade. Upgrading is a choice, not a necessity, at all.
Now - the version you bought "2+ years" ago was a full program with features you apparently liked enough to pay for. After this, you were presented with free upgrades for your version, which enhanced the product you purchased. Is that unfair?
That was what you saw, and decided to purchase. Any later editions comes with new features, and upgrades, and you have always had the choice to upgrade - or not to upgrade. You even ALWAYS have the option to download the latest version, and test it FOR FREE, for as long as you like, with only a geographical limitation, before deciding to upgrade or not to upgrade. Is that unfair?

The Approach feature works perfectly Steve. I have seen more reviews of this feature than any other feature in FSFlyingSchool, and almost everyone is awed by this wonderful feature. I was envious of X-Plane for the possibility to start out a chosen distance from any runway, but FSInventions not only fullfilled that gap, but went miles and miles ahead, with superb sub-features to the approach feature.

Again - keep your plastic in your pocket if you so choose - noone is saying that you NEED to upgrade anything. As for the scoring aircraft... well I would like that to be upgraded also, But it HAS been upgraded over the years, and I have never ever seen any post from SL with a deadline for upgrading the hanger of scoring aircraft... and without that, I fail to see how you can call it lies.

As stated above, FSFlyingSchool Pro 2013 was upgraded at least 7 times for free, probably many more, but I have no time to look through all the free upgrades. And there have been several free updates for all the other versions of FSFlyingSchool also. So FSInvtions DOES offer free upgrades with new features, all the time actually.
The VOR "BS Gimmick" as you so kindly call it, is, for me, one of the best upgrades yet. It brought me further in VOR flying - in a week - than any other VOR training feature I have been able to find out there.

I dont think i Have seen any other developer who talks directly to customers more than FSInventions. I have, since day one, gotten so much feedback to any question I have had - and that has been a considerable number... To a degree even, that I have gained enough knowledge to be able to help other users on this forum, which have been a pleasure.

I simply don´t get it. There ARE no messes in FSFlyingSchool. There is a program for anyone to test for free - then decide weather or not to purchase. Then there are a number of FREE updates (which are announced via the mailsystem for your convenience)
Then once a year, there is a NEW version, updated with new features, which you can then download and test FOR FREE, for as long as you like, with the geographical limitation I mentioned above, and then decide weather or not to purchase. IF you decide NOT to upgrade - fine, you still have your program, which is supported by FSInvention even though new versions are out (they support the initial version, 7 years old with the same intensity as the latest version)
If you decide that you DO want to upgrade, you can do so with a 50% discount from the product, if you have ANY of the previous versions.
This means that if you own the initial version, and have used this for 7 years - you can now upgrade to FSFlyingSchool Pro 2014, with all the upgrades from your old version, and until this new one - and STILL get 50% off on the new one. I have not seen such an offer ANYWHERE else.
If you don´t like to have notifications for new free upgrades and new paid versions, then unsubscribe from the mailing list - simple as that. Then you can go to the FSInventions site every now and then to see if a new FREE version is available, and download that - then all should be happy!
As for promises not delivered... which ones do you refer to? I have yet to find a single promise that FSInvention has made, that has not been fulfilled. I draw a blank here Steve, sorry.
As for your last remark, the one about "... say that I can upgrade it for another 40 dollars) well the thing is Steve... FSFlyingSchool costs 40 dollars - yes - but ANY upgrade is 19.95 dollars Steve... So when you claim that FSInventions does not play fair - I cannot find a single point where you come out true - but this 40 dollar remark, shows that you do not play fair. I understand that you are not satisfied with the updating system and/or the number of scoring aircraft, and OK thats your choice, but at least be fair in your critique and have your stats correct, is that too much to ask?
Fact is that FSInventions delivers on everything they have promised ME, and have for 7 years, both with the incredible number of free updates, with the very generous discounts for new versions, regardless of how old your current version is, and with the endless flow of great new features. It is beyond me how you can claim that this is either lies, messes or promises not delivered.
