DNAA to FGSL (November 6th, 2008)  Abuja, Nigeria to Malabo, Equatorial Guinea

Small little island off the western coast of Africa will be my next stop.  Head south Smitty!

Managed to get the outside view all messed up so I'm really zooming in on these pictures.  Smokin' the tires but real close to centerline.

Landing Score:130.34  (Huge Scores!)

A splendid landing!

Flight Score:146.00

A smooth flight!

FGSL to FKKD (November 6th, 2008)  Malabo, Equatorial Guinea to Douala, Cameroon

Short flight back to the main land of Africa, so I think I'll hop in the Mooney again.

A new airline - Cieba Airlines - Cool looking paint job.  Headed back to mainland.

Flew past a nice little mountain. And another black sink hole - I guess?

Lining up to hit the centerline - looking real good.

Landing Score:90.50  (I now have the high score for the Mooney now!  By .5 points!)

A splendid landing!

Flight Score:83.80

Flight included the following problems:

  • Steep banking - save your aerobatic flying for some other time.
  • Airspeed too low - you are risking stalls.
  • Nose held too low - we're not in combat.
  • Flaps not down on time - plan your landing next time.
  • Poorly trimmed aircraft - trimmers are there to help: use them.

FKKD to FOOL (November 7th, 2008)  Douala, Cameroon to Libreville, Gabon

214nm flight, so back to the big boy.  My trusty B737-800.  Fly south along the western coast of Africa to an airport just off the water.

Cloud cover on take off.  Let's get above them and enjoy the scenery.

Airport straight ahead.  Following a turboprop Cieba Airliner...let's go...I'm tired of flying slow so your azz can land.

Just about there Mrs. Robinson....Little high at the moment...nice airport along the Atlantic Ocean.

Landing Score:103.79

Landing included the following problems:

  • Poor glideslope on ILS approach - you can do better.
  • Glideslope lost before you touched down - not your best effort.

Definite room for improvement...

Flight Score:137.32

Flight included the following problems:

  • Airspeed too low - you are risking stalls.

Cool looking water and land formations....

Landing Score:59.14

  • Not near the centre line - you can do better.
  • Poor steering after landing - stay on the centre line.

Flight Score:133.54

FZAA to FNLU (November 7th, 2008)  Kinshasi, Dem. of Congo to Luanda, Angola

Chief Financial Officer, Chief Test Pilot, and 1st class beverage flight attendant, JoeMini, today spoke at Kinshasi Intl airport to discuss future plans for JoeMini WWT.

{Clears throat, belches, and rips fart.}  "Errr...excuse me for just a moment.  I think I did more than fart."  "Thank you all for waiting...how embarassing.  We are going to have some long flights in the near future, so JoeMini WWT Tours is proud to announce that we will be flying a Boeing 747-400 in our future route including todays flight.  We have had a few flight previously screwing around, but none of this magnitude and pressure.  Welcome aboard!"

Looks like a little overkill for airport?  Taxi's good...what can be so hard about this beast?  Takeoff check!  Liftoff check!

Cool looking rock and water formations...banking southwest to the coast and Luanda.  Coming in over a small gulf inlet.

Flaps down check...Piece of cake.  View from tower of beast coming in...What the heck is this....looks like the airport is sunk into the ground....Crap!...this won't be good.

Get over these buildings....Lining up good....Wham!  Damn...hit the ground faster than I thought sitting up almost 4 stories....oh well 1st time at it....whoa boy!

Drum roll please......

Landing Score:42.00  (I'll take it...all considering)

Landing included the following problems:

  • Poor glideslope on ILS approach - you can do better.
  • Too hard - may have damaged your landing gear.
  • Glideslope lost before you touched down - not your best effort.
  • Not near the centre line - you can do better.

Definite room for improvement...

Flight Score:148.30  (Not bad at all!)

Flight included the following problems:

  • Exceeding flap speeds - your flaps may be damaged: have them checked.
  • Poor attention to taxi speed - dangerous to yourself and others.
  • Airspeed too low - you are risking stalls.
  • Rapid descent - dangerous and uncomfortable.
  • Poorly trimmed aircraft - trimmers are there to help: use them.

Boy Joe. 148.30 New high score there. Great!

And I see that you cheat.... are stepping up to the 747. Brave thing to do!

I must admit that I am in negotiations with Boeing myself, to radically change the course of my flight, and actually double my fleet, with a 737, or a 747. I just need some guidence on which plane is most suitable for me. I may fall to the ground all together, but If, then It will be from the beginning of WWT part 3.

FYWH to FACT (November 9th, 2008)  Windhoek, Nambia to Cape Town, South Africa

Well let's just go ahead and ruin another bad day with a crash.  Wasn't watching my airspeed...not really proficient with my B747 yet, so let's go ahead and rack up another set of zero's.  Here's some more pictures until the Splash.  I don't like the 747, so that's it...no more heavies for me.

FACT to FAPE (November 9th, 2008)  Cape Town, South Africa to Port Elizabeth, South Africa

I cannot end today on a sour note, so I'll remain calm and take it easy and fly around the southern most part of Africa and head east to Port Elizabeth.

Couple new airliners - Nationwide, South African, and Brittish Airways to boot.

I see a full moon arisen.  What do you know, let's go ahead and add bad weather...

Can't see squat.  But as usual, if you wait long enough you can see FSX weather is fantastic.

Everything looking well....Yes!  Nailed the landing....taxi home Smitty.

Landing Score:130.50

A splendid landing!

Flight Score:135.11

Flight included the following problems:

  • Airspeed too low - you are risking stalls.
  • Narrowly missed tail strike - watch your pitch: this could have been bad.

FAPE to FADN (November 10th, 2008)  Port Elizabeth, South Africa to Durban, South Africa

Leaving the southern tip of Africa and heading up to the eastern side of Africa is our new route.  Off to Durban South Africa.

Leaving Port Elizabeth behind.

Clear skies the whole flight until, you guessed it, just about the time I need to land.  Last picture kinda cool, trying to fly around the edge of a cloud, but no worries.

Over shot the runway, having to battle back to get it centered, but as usual, Ace pilot here stinks....

Landing Score:53.00

Landing included the following problems:

  • Too hard - may have damaged your landing gear.
  • Not near the centre line - you can do better.
  • Poor steering after landing - stay on the centre line.

Flight Score:135.57

Flight included the following problems:

  • Airspeed too low - you are risking stalls.
  • Poorly trimmed aircraft - trimmers are there to help: use them.
