Yep Joe - Kiefer and I!!! What can I say, but

Regarding your feeling about you and I being the only ones looking at the WWT posts. I got the same worry.
But no, we are not the only ones looking here. I see as you, a large number of looks, and it grows by the hour, but as you say, it´s still just you and me for flying.

I posted spots about this thing on simviation.com´s forum, and on RSC´s flightsim forum. I see people looking at it, and I actually got in touch with another Dane who considers joining up, so maybe we can extend our number by a humongous 50% soon.

But you know, if it´s just us, then we are guaranteed a price from SL (God praise him ) so... and still we get to do it, and that´s the most important thing for me.

How about that avatar Joe?

I'm working on it....I guarantee my first one you won't recognized me.  I will be a little incognito?

I've been spending a huge amount of time taking our existing "mandatory" stops, and adding my personal stops along the way.  Well let's just say, I will have a full slate of extras needless to say.  I broke down a couple long hauls into a little more managable flights for me, plus some touristy places I hope to get some good screen shots of.

We have to make 32 by October 1st, but I have close to 85 stops!   Believe it or not they are just stops along the straight line, and a few detours, which I still think is very doable(sp?).

Working on the Africa/Middle East routes now....wonder how many extras this will bring?

So, let me get this straight. If we decide to go to a secondary airport on the WWT, and it may not have any ILS, then we will have to make a non-ILS file correct? I've been on ATC controlled flights that will make you come into the Non-ILS runways, so I guess we would have to cover all bases just in case?

Joe: I want to make this clear too:

If you are on a flight with a ILS runway as your destination, or with a NON-ILS runway as your destination, and have set your instruments up, with the appropriate ILS setting, or the appropriate NON-ILS runway file saved in your FSFS folder, AND THE ATC DIRECTS YOU TO ANOTHER RUNWAY! Then all you have to do is call the ATC, and ask to land at another runway, namely the runway you originally selected, BECAUSE THAT IS THE ONE YOU HAVE SET YOUR PLANE UP FOR, OR HAVE THE NON-ILS FILE FOR. So you need to land at that specific runway., in order to get FSFS to evaluate your performance correctly. Comprendes?

I get what you are saying....but I might be off base here, but say you set up an VFR/IFR flight plan, I was not aware that you could know exactly which runway you will be landing on until you get to that airport, check the winds, ATIS, or ATC control tower.  So I wasn't worried about the ILS's, it was what do if you had to land on a non-ILS runway or visual.

You know, call me dummy , I never thought about when selecting the designation runway in my FSX flight plan when initially setting it up.  Doh.  I've always selected the destination airport and never thought about the destinatoin runways.  I guess if the airports are really close together (ie same city), then chances are the winds are close to the same, but on a "longer" flight, winds could change over the hours....I just thought in real world stuff, you would fly to the SIDS/STARS points, then ATC would bring you in, etc....

But, I will try to set up a non-ILS tonight at my little muni-airport near my house and figure out how to do this before the big trek.

Thanks for the help....learning new stuff all the time!

Hey, I just re-read the manual one more time, and it talked about new NonILS files are being added all the time....we're do I find it.  I see the airplanes, but no runways...no biggie, just asking?

The easiest way is just to ask ATC for a specific runway, the one you are set up for, it clicks fine with the FlightSimulator system, where you can select a runway for landing.

But in our case, where it is a limited amount of airports in question, you could cover your backside, by simply making a runwayfile (NON-ILS) for every runway in the airport, it´s usually not that many, when it´s a NON-ILS airport anyway. It really takes no time at all, when your are there anyway... See the manual...

If it is an ILS airport, its okay also, but you just have to change the ILS setting in your plane accordingly if ATC tells you to go to another runway.

That way you can keep it at real as possible, and use the obvious benefits of FSFlyingSchool at the same time.

That section is not present at eeh.. present. Something might come up again, but for now it´s you who have to make all the hard work...

Boy we love those quotes - eh?

"We've got clearance Clarence."
"Roger, Roger. What's our vector Victor?"

If I can pop into this discussion for a moment, my suggestion would be that all destination airports have either ILS, in which case we can all stop worrying about this and get on with the rest of our lives... or have a pair of NonILS files for at least one airstrip, one file for each direction (each runway). When you get there, if you cannot land at the runway you expected because of wind conditions or because FSX ATC is having a bad day, then land in the other direction, but you will land at one of the runways you have the files for. If you do not, you will get a poor score, very possibly zero, in FSFS.

SL really have a way of putting things straight in an easy, understandably way. Gee - wish I could do that as good..

Joe: That avatar! Kind of blurry isn´t it? Can´t really see if is gray hair you have there, or a massive outburst of acne. And is it blue eyes I can see? Kind of deep set of eyes, looks almost like the ocean. Now you can toe the line around the globe...

I've gone many of times to get a complete makeover to show my true beauty! It's amazing you noticed all of my gray hairs, bald spots, and my 5 ears just from my picture.  I have a "thing" that every beach I have visited, a picture of my "foot" in the sand will be taken.  The picture doesn't do the justice, but that's me putting down some Marg's in Cozumel Mexico.  The water color is awesome in the Gulf.

Well, I can tell both of you are a little taken back by my stunning "foot" beauty, so perhaps this weekend I shall step deep into the vault of pictures located in my lair and pull out a vintage Joe Mini pic?
