Hi,
Yes there is a loud BANG : I believed it was the bursting of the engine ! There is too a cloud of smoke . And, in the briefing appears a lot of instruments failures, as a result of the loss of engine, I guess... Sometimes this engine fire appears at the very beginning of the flight, at the end of the first taxying, before takeoff.

Thanks SL!
If this may be the case, aren't bird strikes supposed to be various random strike stiuations and not always Engine failure?

I will test tonight after kids are in bed and report results.

Did a test and flew using only the keyboard to advance flight modes.
All went perfect!
Then used the 5 key (i have mapped to yoke button), and left it open and sure enough... bang and engine out after about 1 minute into takeoff!!!

Hope this helps to solve this issue.
Thanks,
Ken

Hi All:

Thanks for the fast feedback!

We've been looking at this and are pretty certain that if you turn voice control OFF at the settings screen of FSFlyingSchool you will never have this problem if "failures" are also OFF (pilots screen).

A bird strike is being triggered - as if the user requested it with his/her voice. This is not part of (controlled by) the random failures system.

Now of course - you may actually want to use the Voice Pack(!) - of course - and we are looking at that right now.

One option would be for us to make the verbal call for a bird strike (for training) optional - so that, if the option is not chosen, there is no possibility at all that the program will pick up background noise and interpret it to mean "Birds ahead of us!". Yes - believe it or not - that is precisely what appears to be happening on your PCs. As I said this is a very, very uncommon problem - but we want to get it solved.

Yes, it seems to me as a minimum -but it is easier to say than to program- that the "birds ahead us" command should be inactive when the "failure" box is unchecked in the pilot page...

Faithfully,

Say KANADAKEN... what's the trouble with the keys?

TIP - whenever folks have trouble with keys - in 99% of cases it is because FSX must be loaded first and the pilot must get into the cockpit before the FSFlyingSchool program is ever launched from Windows. Do not even start FSFlyingSchool until you are seated comfortably in the cockpit. If this sequence is followed, the problem is solved in 99% of cases.

If you have not tried that - please try it!

My keys are fine now. Had trouble initially, but it works flawlessly now!
Would be better if the Voice pack worked without flaw though.
Overall, it performs well and Im getting great scores!!
Thanks.
