Hi,
I have recently upgraded from FSFS 2010 to 2011, hit generate runways and than OK (in a first window) then window "reading runway data" appears and just after that - FSFS Runway Gen window saying "Run-time error '13': Type mismatch" and that's it, unfortunately my FSFS stopped working, every time I hit connect I get a message about error '13' and the program closes itself.
So please help me again - I had the same problem with FSFS 2010.
Kind regards
Jan

Hi, What regional setting are you using? To me it looks like MakeRunways.exe is having problems when decimal separator is something else then '.' (dot). When I have changed regional settings to English or only decimal separator to '.' it has generated runway data correctly. You will likely need the same trick, to load a flight plan to FSFS. BR

Hi I have the same problem. Could I get the file FSFSRWYS.TXT as well? When I generated runways it seemed to work OK and generate them all but it still ended with error 13 when it finished. When I try to load a saved plan I get error 13 right away.

I just reinstalled FSFS Pro on a new W7 64 bit system, and wanted to see about the 'Generate Runways for FS2004/FSX' feature in the 'Settings' page in FSFS.
So I put 'generate runways' in the Search here in the forums and came up with this thread.
An observation (that hopefully will help out others wondering about this also), then a question: I tried to 'generate runways' when I simply "opened" FSFS Pro, and it did nothing.
I then opened it and 'ran as administrator', then the runway generators worked perfectly!
Now my question: From reading here in this thread, it was said that doing this won't affect/hurt anything (being FSFS Pro auto-reads the default runways), but applies to generating info on addon runways/scenery. This is still the case, right?
Thanks!

Hi Steve:
FSFS Pro is shipped with runway data for standard FSX. If the user has not added any scenery etc to FSX then there is no need to generate the data.
If the user has added scenery, airports etc, then there is a possibility that the data will differ from standard FSX data and we would strongly recommend that the user generate the data so that it is taken from the data actually on the PC and not a standard FSX version of the data.
New scenery can add runways, move runways, etc, etc and so generating the data would be necessary.
Note that all this only relates to the way FSFS Pro works. It in no way alters FSX data - FSX will continue to function the way it always has on that PC.
