Hello Ole and Squadron leader.
First, Hats off to Ole and You for helping me with these issues.
As Ole stated above, I have no alignment issues with FS2004

In FSX all is well on the ILS approaches.

IN FSX Just flying and landing, there is always an alignment issue even when I am on the numbers and the centerline.

IN FSX:
I made a flight plan from Konz to an airport about 15 miles away.
I selected the option to have the aircraft start on the active rwy. I then loaded the FP in both FSX and FSFS and connected FSFS.

Then I compared the Longitutude/latitude coordinates of my aircraft'ss location in FSFS and FSX.
The aircraft's location is different in FSFS than in FSX.
I wrote down the coordinates for RWY 17 at KNOZ from FSFS then moved the aircraft to these coordinates on the FSX map. Interestingly, the aircraft was about 1.5 miles NNW and west of the final approach path by .5 miles.

So as Ole says there seems to be a FSX issue.

I wonder if there is a way to update/ revise the coordinates in FSX without doing a full reload of the program? Any Ideas?

I have been flying FSX since it came out. I never noticed that in FSX if you look at the airport data for a Rwy that doesnt have an ILS approach the actual magnetic Heading of the runway is not given. It is given for ILS approaches. ex Ryw 3R at Kdtw has a magnetic heading of 035.
This makes it easier to ensure the OBS on Nav1 is set to what FSX has for the rwy heading.

IF there is no ILS approach you must be very critical on the aircrafts heading while on the rwy centerline to set the proper heading.

When I got Oles note about tuning the OBS at 175 for RWY 17 at KONZ I tried it in FS9 and it worked great. The only time I hear a alignment comment is when I intentionally flew to the side of the Centerline but I still got a score for the landing.
When I tried this in FSX it did not work. I hear... "You were not even near the centerline" landing score is 0

The current situation is:
I can fly in FSFS and do circuits in FS9 and fly ILS approaches in either flight sim. so I am good to go.. PLease dont ask Mr. Smiths opinion!! LOL
During circuits, I am doing better. Mr Smith is a hard instructor to please!!!!! LOL. I understand the comment about needing a landing score of 70 in order to start the circuit training.

Now I need to figure out how to put the short cut buttons to advance the program from taxi-to-Cruise-Landing on my joy stick.

Thanks again.
I hope my notes are helpful to any other FSFS Newbie!!

Hello SL and Ole,
It has been a strange 48 hours since my last post.
I tried to uninstalled FSX but had some errors during the uninstall. I had to manually remove files. Then ran the Windows Install cleaner program from Microsoft, then Registry Mechanic to clear the registry of the FSX entries.
When I tried to reinstall FSX had a sector problem on dvd 2 and could not reinstalled. After several attempts of cleaning the DVD to no avail cleared everything out again. Yesterday I went to the local Walmart and purchased the FSX GOLD.
I installed it along with Accelerator and "WAH LA " FSFS works at my home airport!!! No Alignment with the runway errors.

Thanks again for all the ideas and moral support!!

Great that you have solved it yourself. So it was a FSX problem afterall... And reinstalling helped, hm. perhaps I should try that myself. I have strange problems myself in FSX, planes looking extremly odd, when I return to the startup screen (free flight) after flying, with the exterior placed completly wrong.

Keep us posted
