Hello everybody,

I’ve been trying to get an AlphaSim Vampire T.11 Trainer to work with FsflyingSchool in FS9.

I inputted all the ‘User Specified Data’.

It taxies ok

Takes off ok

But when I put it into ‘cruise mode’ it keeps telling me “You’re flying too fast!” despite the fact that I was well under 200kts.

When I fly the default 744 I don’t get this message to slow down. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Rocket3:

I am sure we can sort this out.

Can you tell me at what speed the plane indicates "overspeed" when you are flying it in Flight Simulator? Try it - you should see "overspeed" displayed on the screen when you are pushing it past the VNE 'barber pole' speed.

Also, can you email the .FSU file for the aircraft in question to info@fsflyingschool.com and we will take a look at it.

By default it would be in:

C:\Program Files\FSFlyingSchool\Aircraft

unless you installed FSFS elsewhere.

Also - who made the simulated aircraft?

SL: why is it that we cannot enter our own "cruise" speed in the .fsu file? and max speed? I never wondered about this before, but I went to check, and found out that you cannot enter anything of max speed, only stallspeeds. Just wondering.

Wherever possible, if the data can be depended on, we read it automatically.

The VNE speed is available direct from Flight Simulator, so we read it directly, and use it as the basis of when to say "Hey - slow down tough guy!"

Kids these days! Always flying at breakneck speeds. Why, just the other day JoeMini whizzed past me on the way to EGLL doing 400 in a Cessna 172 while texting. Who do these blighters think they are? Where's the Special Air Police when you need them? Arghh.

So sorry - I wasn't expecting the reply to be so quick. I'd heard that the forum response was good - but that was more than just good.

Yes I'll fly the plane again and report back the speed which FS9 says 'Overspeed'

VonStalhein - Hey dude, you got me confused with another pilot, I flew past you in the ultralight glider!    There's a rule to stay out of the fast lane!  LOL.

Rocket3:

Thanks for all the data - very thorough and well presented.

This is a most unusual case - it makes no sense, unless...

Can you tell me exactly what the instructor says when the problem occurs?

In relation to the VNE speed, the instructor will say:

"You're flying too fast - slow down."

I am trying to establish if there are other factors involved such as gear or flaps.

Also - you mention cruise mode - does it start precisely when you enter cruise mode?

And another thing... what precisely does the log book say about all this?

We'll get there...

Gear and Flaps are up.

It says exactly what you just said.
