Hi Pierre:

OK - as the three options are (after landing):
a) stopped or taxiing
b) 'a' above AND parking brake set
c) 'a' AND 'b' AND engine(s) shut down

...I think it's best, with the A2A c172 to use (a) or (b) for the moment. We will dig deeper into using option (c) with the A2A c172 and see if we can determine what the issue is.

Hello,
Thanks for support.

I get too a strange instructor message in visual final.
He says I'm to high on slope even if the PAPI indicates 2 red and 2 white lights.
He says also reduce throttle when it is idle.

What I do wrong?

Thanks for help

Greetings
Pierre

Hi Pierre:

Thanks for reporting your findings - it all helps.

If the runways you are using are added scenery, be sure to generate runway data as described in the manual. FSFS looks at its own runway data files during flights and they have to match your scenery to function properly.

Is the runway in question added scenery?

Is the throttle controlled by an external (e..g USB) controller? If so it may be that it is not fully retracted as far as FSX is concerned. (This is just a possible cause).

Was the plane involved the A2A c172?

Hi, Thanks for quick reply.

Yes aircraft concerned is A2AC172.
The airport is a third party scenery and the DB was updated when installed.
The throttle axis is controlled by a Saitek quadrand through FSUIPC (registered) settings.
Just flown a landing, the PAPI had 4 red and the instructor says "You're too high"

Thanks for help
Pierre

Hi Pierre:

Although almost all flights are usually fine, some FSFS pilots' experiences with the PAPI or VASI do vary - from what we can see it seems to depend on the airfield.

We are always working on improving this.

By contrast, approaches which have a glideslope tuned on NAV1 are evaluated by a different method which appears, from feedback we've received, around 100% accurate.

As for the throttle, can you test it with the Saitek throttle controller not in use (configured so as not to control the plane's throttle) and use the keyboard instead? (F1 cuts the throttle).

I am not suggesting this as a workaround - I just want as much data as we can get - to help make possible improvements.

Hello,

Concerning the record trigger, no change any way. May be due to A2A specifics.

Concerning visual glide slope, tried with third party and original fsx airports, no change.
Instructor says youre above glide slope inspite of PAPI/VASI shows 3 to 4 red lights.
Any ideas.

Best regards
Pierre

Hi Pierre:

Can you give me the codes of some of the airfields, and the runways used, at which you have experienced this issue please?

Thanks for reply,

I used LFPN 25L/R and 07L/R from france vfr as 2rd party and LFPT 05/23 as FSX standard.

Thanks for good support.

Cheers
Pierre
