Thanks for the reply.  I really appreciate your program and your forum to support it.  I've been flying simulators for a long time, but poorly.  Now, I've nearly received my Sport Pilot rating and need to clean up problems.  So, your program is great.

Oh, another problem...when I run your tutorials from your web page, the sound gets garbled.  It sounds like an additional channel of dialog is going on.

I am using Vista and FSX Deluxe 10.0.61355.0   fsx-sp1.20070510-2038.

Part of my landing on the nose wheel first problem is probably from my expecting FSX to have a better working model of the Air Creation Trike.  The trike itself hang from a hang point on the wing so they stay in the same orientation no matter the angle of attack of the wing.  But, I'm sure FSX doesn't do this and has everything permanently fixed.

I'll send the requested files by regular e-mail.

Hmmmm - we've not heard this before. The sound is clearly 'compressed' when we play it (sounds a bit like it's running down a drain pipe...) but we can hear it fine on our machines. Do you have any custom sound settings such as WinAmp or custom sound equipment?

Ah ha! That could explain it. FSFS is looking at "pitch" at landing - it has no separate reading for where the individual wheels are in relation to the runway as a separate set of data. So if the trike frame and its wheels move about a separate axis from the wing itself then one can see where the difference could come in. I dare say the data we are getting from FSFS is the pitch of the trike's wing rather than the trike frame and its wheels.

Just a thought, in order for the pilot to receive a landing notation of:
"Nose down too low - you need to land on your main gear."
the aircraft has to be pitched down a fair amount beyond its pitch at rest.
Is it possible that, despite all of the above, the wings have still been pitched down a noticeable amount at landing? Is this normal when landing a trike? I confess I have no special knowledge of this aircraft.

For those not familiar with a "weight Shift Control Trike", it is a hang glider wing attached to an engine powered trike.  The trike connects through a hang point where the wing is free to rotate forward and backwards and side to side.  There is no tail.  All control comes from a control bar fixed to the wing.

On landing a "Weight Shift Control Trike", as the back wheels touch, the wing is stalled, the control bar is pushed all the way forward for a maximum angle of attack.  Then with the nose wheel on the ground, the control bar is pulled back to a neutral position to prevent ballooning.  Often the trike is landed at an extreme angle for short landings

FSX gives me a couple of problems when using the computer keyboard.  The throttle responds very slowly so it is hard to tune the airplane's vertical velocity with it.  Even worse is big changes in "elevator".  I have to keep hitting F8 for rotation until the airplane pitches violently up and the instructor complains about hitting the tail.  Of course, there is no tail.  The only instruments FSX gives are tach, altitude, and airspeed.  There is no pitch indicator, roll indicator, artificial horizon, etc, probably because there is no tail or aerolons.

A control wheel or stick makes little sense since moving a trike's control bar is so different from a wheel or stick.  I have to set all the controls in reverse.  You push the control bar forward to ascend and push it left to turn right, etc.  While FSX isn't too friendly with a trike, it still is great, especially with FSFS, for working out better control for flying and landing.
