Hi there
I really enjoy your unique product.
May I request the following in an update if possible
1.The ability to choose an aircraft from the program itself
2.The ability to search by airport name as well as ICAO
Many thanks
Jay

Hi Jay:
Thanks for your kind words and your feedback.
As to your points...
1. This is an intriguing idea. Can I ask what it is about being able to do this from within FSIA this that interests you?
2. This is something we are actively working on, in addition to other new exciting features, down in our sinister lab...
We would like to support plain text airport names and also searching by country, and in the case of the USA, Canada and Australia, by state.
In other news... we are always interested to hear what anyone has in mind for improvements or additions to the program - I hope I can say we are attentive listeners!
We're looking closely into such ideas as:
Filtering by the kind of approaches available to that runway in the real world, such as VOR, NDB, RNAV, etc
Support for starting the approach at the start of a 'STAR'.
Hey everyone! Got any other 'pet' ideas you want us to look at?

Hi there
Thanks for the reply.
I fly different aircraft all the time and find that having to change the
Aircraft from within the sim cumbersome.
Just as you can set up multiple approach parameters within fsia at present
It would be good to have an aircraft selection option.
I have no programming knowledge-how difficult would that be?
Cheers
Jay

Hi Jay:
I see what you mean.
Right now we are concentrating on the option to filter by country and state and to select an airport by its plain text name.
We will look into changing the aircraft from within FSIA too, but I am not sure that, for technical reasons, this will be something that ends up in the product. Just trying to be frank!

Many thanks for that clarification.
Is there any chance you could build in the ability to load ICAOs from a user defined list, say in a text file?
That would allow practice at dangerous airports/favourite/interesting or user defined subsets.
Cheers
Jay

Hi again Jay -
We are thinking along similar lines - there is a lot that can be done with the airports to choose from.
- Favourites
- Default
- Dangerous / challenging
- Pretty(!)
- Last airport I was at
This is something we are very much developing and hope to bring to the product very soon. The Holiday Season is coming...

Hi MD:
Yes! Default airport is an excellent and useful idea. "Coming soon" as they say...
Come on everyone - we're off to a good start! Let's hear those ideas!

Option to start with gear up or down. At the moment my flights have always started with gear already down. I just like to make the decision to lower gear - adds to the sense of immersion. Hmmmm......just thought, maybe the reason the gear is down is because I always start with my aircraft on the runway (saves time) - perhaps I should take off and raise gear and flaps before connecting FSIA.
