I just purchased this incredible program! What a great idea. I've been looking for a way to just practice landings, especially ILS and cross-wind. This is exactly what I wanted. Easy to download and use. Just follow the instructions. Until now I would have to take-off, circle and line up with the ILS. Now, it's all done for me. I just heard about this program a couple of days ago and am very pleased to now use it. Thank you for developing and offering this incredible product.

Quite often I will run a Google search for new products for FSX. That's where I found the info for FS Instant Approach. I'm not sure what you could do to improve it. I downloaded it right after you put in Visibility, so that really was a big addition. What a great feeling to pop in 1/2 mile visibility with a cross-wind and follow that ILS right down the tube. And not having to punch in the NAV frequencies makes it extremely easy. Thanks again.

Yes, I just bought this myself, and agree with everything said here -it's perfect for me also, and exactly what I was looking for!!!

I searched through the forums, and couldn't find anything about my problem, hope here's a good place to ask...

I am having one problem that I hope someone can advise on: When using it in FS2004, the plane drops like a rock and crashes, no matter where I have it set on the runway before connecting.

I've even tried it in the air, same result. Engines 100%, elevators up, flaps, no flaps. Stock or add-on plane. Nose-dives instantly, and very hard to save it from crashing.

I set the approach nm's out further, but it doesn't help.

I can barely keep the 172 up and not crashing. Couldn't do it with a King Air. A heavy is out of the question -at any approach in the world, not just at KORD and Green Bay.

It does not do this in FSX, this program runs fine, my problems are just in FS2004.

I have the latest version of FS Approach, and the latest FSUIPC's for FS9/FSX. Maybe I'm too new at this, and I'm missing something here, I don't know.

I did notice that the approach flight speed is grayed-out in FS2004, but not in FSX, is that the answer?

Regardless of my FS2004 woes, thank you for a wonderful program.

Hi Steve:

Thank you for your very kind words!

We are unable to set the speed in FS2004 due to a technical difference between FSX and FS2004.

This is stated in the free manual which comes with the free download and is the reason the box is disabled (greyed out) when FS2004 is running.

But - the good news is that there is a (workaround) way to control it - if you first put your airplane in FS2004 in a situation where it is flying at the speed you want, and then use FSIA to set up the approach, it will start out flying at the speed you set previously.

Happy landings!

This just gets better and better. What a great addition! After using it a couple of days now, here's a thought or suggestion--how about a default airport? I practice approaches a lot at my "home" airport (Bar Harbor, Maine) and having that as the default would be cool, certainly not necessary, but just a thought.

My apologies for missing this FS2004 matter in the manual, SL.

Truthfully speaking, I was like a kid in a candy store once I got this program, that's how much I like it .

I was having too much of a blast doing many of the different approaches in FSX, and never gave the FSIA for FS2004 a thought until I tried it out yesterday.

Your FS2004 workaround did the trick sir!  THANK YOU VERY MUCH for your help!!!

Thanks MD and Steve!

I have posted a 'mission' for those that wish to accept it here...

If we can spread the word - the more interest - the more we can keep adding to this project.

Posting in forums - anywhere - is also an enormous help.

We are a very small business and we appreciate all the help we can get from all our enthusiastic supporters!

Now then - regarding a default airport - excellent suggestion - I see no reason we cannot add that to the next release. Simple as that!

Please, please keep those ideas coming. Some are easy to implement and others will take more time - but if we don't know what you want - it won't get done.

To Squadron Leader:
Good idea you have about promoting this product. So.....here is a review I posted on 'FlightSim Pilot Shop'.

"This is an incredible program. FINALLY, you can set up an ILS approach, picking the visibility you want, and just shoot landings. Don't have to take off and circle and line up with the ILS. It's also great for practicing cross-wind landings. You can use it for any airport in FSX. It even sets the NAV radio for the right frequency. Takes about 30 seconds to set it up. What a great way to practice just landings. A MUST buy."
