Hello,

right now, I am getting always a crash when I try to start the 'On Approach' facility. There is always the message 'Splash!'...What can I do to avoid this crash?

By the way: Should the plane be 'cold and dark', when starting the 'On Approach' facility? Or should the engines been started already?

Kind regards

Arndt

Are you using FSFlyingSchool Pro v5.0 or v5.1?

With FSX or FS2004?

Hi -

Try having the engine running (and everything else as if you were on approach) before you 'connect' using the On Approach feature.

As you flying over water?

Where are you trying to approach?

Yes, the crash was over water, when approaching Faro and Lissabon in Portugal.

Yesterday I tried Vienna in Austria - no problem!

Kind regards

Hmm.

Did you have the engine running (and everything else as if you were on approach) before you 'connect' when you had the problem with approaches over water (i.e. Faro and Lissabon in Portugal)?

And if so with the same setup everything was fine when over land (i.e. Vienna in Austria)?

Yes, I just tried it again. Approach at LPPT over water. Engine running etc. After loading the flight, sudden splash!

Over land, so far no problem.

Hi -

This is a puzzle. I am having no problem when I try LPPT rwy 03 and starting far enough out to be over water.

1. Which runway are you approaching and from how many miles out?

2. Is FSX paused when you press connect in FSFS?

Hello,

I was using runway 3, too. My selection for 'distance to runway' was 20 miles.

I load my plane into a standard situation, then I start the engines etc., then I start FSFlyingSchool and select the parameters for the approach feature. After FSX has loaded the selected approach situation, FSX is always in Pause mode.

When I am pressing Pause to get rid of the Pause mode, the Splash! message is coming up.

Regards

Arndt

Hi -

Can you try 15 miles at rwy 3 and report the results?

Also - what speed and what airplane?
