RealAir Beechcraft Duke B60 or the new PMDG BAe JS41

The Duke will be a real nice twin that is very well simulated by RealAir with accurate systems and flight dynamics. Same for the JS41, but would step up to a turboprop regional that would also be outstanding to have an addon like this for.

Please stay away from default junk that comes with FSX. Anyone who is serious enough to use a program like FSFlyingSchool would also want the realism that comes with high quality accurate payware add-on aircraft like the Duke or JS41.
I know this program will work with the add-on Cessna 172, but I wouldn't touch any of the default aircraft except that ultra-lite for looking at scenery.

I would really like to see the dehavilland DHC-6 Twotter.

But the Cessna 206 Stationair and deHavilland DHC-2 Beaver would be nice as well.

I like to keep it in the bush.

I would like the PMDG MD11 included in the aircraft FSFS recognises. Currently if I try to use FSFS while flying this Aircraft the FSFS disconnects. It will however handle the Wilco 737 with no problems attatched other than not recognising when the aircraft is finished taxing and is about to take off and also not recognising headings being followed in AP mode.

>> Currently if I try to use FSFS while flying this Aircraft the FSFS disconnects.

This is because the plane is unrecognised, as you have said. This is how FSFlyingSchool Classic (v 1.9.2 or lower) functions.

FSFlyingSchool2009 will automatically create a profile for any powered airplane and will not disconnect.

>> It will however handle the Wilco 737 with no problems attatched other than not recognising when the aircraft is finished taxing and is about to take off

Please see the manual - this requires that you tell the instructor that you are ready to take off.

>> ...and also not recognising headings being followed in AP mode.

I am not sure I understand this. What should FSFS be doing...?

I would certainly appreciate a vintage aircraft with vintage autopilot, such as the default DC3, or Nick Hancocks DC3 with enhanced gauges.

I love the growl of those older beauties - and your point about the autopilot is well made - that would be an interesting area for the instructor.

lylastar (10/20/2009)
Hi FSFlyingschool, this is lylastar and I have a couple thoughts:

1. Make absolutely sure (by exhaustive testing) that your detail packs you come up with fully support the superior ADD-ON versions of the new specific aircraft you will end up creating a pack for....e.g. As for the C172, I exclusively fly the Corenado aircraft and have the default in my hangar but will prolly never employ it...when a person loves a specific aircraft they often or usually get the best version of such they can, sooner or later, and then stick with that.

2. The Mooney Bravo comes to mind, as does a good twin engine GA aircraft for which there are many choices. But your voting poll has overlooked an extremely important choice....what about a bush-flying STOL plane such as my favorite, the Aerosoft DeHavilland DHC-2 Beaver in all its incarnations: standard wheels, tundra wheels, seaplane floats, skis, and amphib pontoons. This plane and perhaps the BushHawk XP also in its variety of landing incarnations are pretty critical, representing if nothing else virtually all Alaska flight. Also of course the DHC-6 Twin Otter which is the nice marriage of twin engine and bush plane. One cannot get to Mt. Everest without one!!

Thanks for the detailed feedback!

I do see your points and these would be interested aircraft indeed.

We plan to cover several of the most popular add-on aircraft in detail.

It's interesting that the add-on market is a very mixed place as for example the case of a popular aircraft which, unlike the FS version, has no AP and no glideslope on VOR1.

On the other hand, many add-on aircraft are a great pleasure to fly and are often modelled in much greater, and more accurate, detail than the stock FS aircraft.

Thanks for the input and the kind words about FSFS!

Essentially - we'll be charting a course that strikes a middle ground between the realism of some of the add-ons and the numbers of installed default aircraft, which, being default, everyone has.
