Hi:

Sorry to hear about the problem.

The program cannot write a file it needs to write to the PC's disk.

It is likely that this is a Windows security issue.

Windows security has become so tight that in order for FSFS to function correctly it is necessary that:
- The same user installed FSX and FSFS and FSUIPC.
- That same user is running FSX and FSFS.
- That user is an administrator on that PC.
- It may also be necessary to right click on the shortcut that launches FSFlyingSchool and choose "Run as Administrator" in order to avoid problems with Windows Security.

Finally - always make sure you run FSX and get into the cockpit of a plane before you start the FSFlyingSchool program in Windows.

Please let me know how you get on.

This is actually the same problem I'm having. I'm also sorry for posting this question in the wrong forum without doing a search. When I started in fs I had a plane on the ground but had not actually been in the pilot seat. I will have try this when I get home because I'm posting this from cell at work. I'm also running fs2004 and not FSX if that matters. How do run something as an administrator?

Hi Les:

No problem!

Here you go...

"- It may also be necessary to right click on the shortcut that launches FSFlyingSchool and choose "Run as Administrator" in order to avoid problems with Windows Security."

This will very likely fix the issue.

I was just reading something, probly right when you were posting your response, that you can set the programs default settings to open in administrator mode automatically. Is that correct? Thanks you again. This is like the best customer service Ive ever seen with a computer program!!!

Hi -

Yes - right click on the shortcut that launches FSFS and then from the menu choose "properties" and then choose "advanced" and then turn on "run as administrator".

This is the way it is done in Windows 7 - I cannot recall the action in Vista or XP but if I recall it is very similar.

Thanks for your kind words!

Well I'm home and opened both while in adminstator and soon as I connect it pauses the flight session and when I push P to unpause it does nothing but keep flashing Pause.  I actually have to reset the aircraft to do anything.  When I do that FSFS PRO says its disconnecting.   its doesnt that three times in row now.  i actually left it disconnected and when  i went back into the FS to just fly without theh flight school, as soon i as turned the motor over it decided to reconnect on its own.  weird!
