Ladies and Gentlemen. It is my privilege to welcome you to this, the fourth part of the WWT. Only one part to go, and this huge project will be over and done with. Amazing.

This part will bring us through the western part of North-America, through Central America, South America, and finally through the Caribbean, before we make that last pop, on to Miami, where it all ends with champagne and huge cigars – from the Dominican Republic, the best cigars in the world.

It will bring us to the highest airport in the WWT. An airport not on the original tour-list, but one that Joe and I decided to add to our list of mandatory landings. It is located in thecity of La Paz,in Bolivia, at an incredible 13.000 feet.

(And off topic I should say that I used the pause, to get me a new computer with some more kick, so the pictures should be of a somewhat better quality. The flights though might suffer, as I also bought new FS hardware.Yoke, pedals, and things, and they are not so easy as I thought..... Lets see some improvement along the way please Ole.)

But why talk so much, Let the flying do the talking. Let the wild rumpus begin.

It is always a special feeling to start out on a fresh part of the WWT. This one especially, as it is the last one. I had spent some days talking to Smith and to Robert Ichman, and I can tell you that we have a few surprises for you later one. Hopefully you will enjoy them.

But finally Smith and I emerged, reluctantly but alert, and settled in the cockpit of the 737. Smith had said Ms.Aviatrix goodbye, after a week of enjoyment in Canada, and I myself, had waved to my family, on the webcam on my laptom. We were cheered by the crowd, or at least the ground crew. Later we found out that the cheers were in fact waves of warning, that the fuel hose was still attached to our plane, when we tried to throttle away.
So the next day, when all the mess was done with, and everybody was paid to forget, Smith and I finally set out for the last exploration in the WWT.

Off from Edmonton, Canada.

Wild hair, fresh smell of toothpaste, and Smith and I grinned, when we fired up the 737. Early morning, and still heavy traffic in Edmonton.

Up up up we go, and away, heading south towards - well just on we went. Sun was up on us soon, and we cheered it. Light is good.

Whoo Smith. Canada is a cold place. Could you turn up the heat? Thank you. But fishing salmon should be great. Don´t think my line is long enough though.

But Smith. All good things must come to an end. Vancouver in sight. Lets make it good. Looking good so far. I have a good feeling about this.

Hey you big dorf. I have the right of way, so you just wait there... That´ll teach him Smith. Ah one down - about30 to go. Lets have a Margerita Smith... On me.

But - erhm....first we need to do the thing there Smith. If you remember...

Landing Score:57,00 (Whoo - not a very good start. But what the heck. I was rusty)

Landing included the following problems:

  • Poor glideslope on ILS approach - you can do better.
  • Too hard - may have damaged your landing gear.
  • Nose down too low - you need to land on your main gear.

Flight Score:130,48 (Smith - I´ll kiss you nomatter what, come here man...)

  • Exceeding flap speeds - your flaps may be damaged: have them checked
  • Rapid descent - dangerous and uncomfortable.

Leg 2:

CYVR (Vancouver - Canada) to KPDX (Portland - USA)

Well after a bad start, landingscorewise, I kissed Canada goodbye for the last time, and tugged the frozen Salmon into my portable freezer, bought for the occation. I want to eat only the best, when I go for a goodnight snack. There you have it Smith, and you can drink your Dr. Peppers.

Once again off the USA. Have we got the clearence Smith? well good, then lets head on.              Quite a place the Vancouver airport. Now lets see Portland.

And quite populated. I once read that if  - no that was Alaska, forget it Smith.                             Now this is how I think of Canada. Lakes, rivers and huge spaces.

Im glad Im not down there Smith. It looks so great that I dont think I could ever leave.               And I would miss my family. OK getting a little flatter.

Now LOOK Smith. What a sight. Cool bridges. And Portland airport just ahead.                                 OK I got it framed Smith. Gotta beat that darn landingscore.

Good. Now thats a plus 100 Smith, or I will drop you in the Caribbean sea later.                            Hm. Think they have a parking space for us Smith? I sure hope so.

Alright. Not only a space, but the best one in the airport. I just know it Smith. Care for some Salmon?

But first the score Smith - and I warn you!

Leg 4:

KSLC (Salt Lake City - USA) to KSFO (San Fransisco - USA)

Salt Lake City. I went and had a sip of the water, and I can honestly say that I think they should change the name of the City, to Cow Dung Lake City. Yuck the water was bad.

So with the salmon safely in the gutter, and a few sixpacks of Coca-Cola Zero, I was ready to head to San Fransisco. You with me Smith?

Please Smith. Get down from that antenna. Its dangerous. but nice shot though.                              Could we please get out of here. Runway 10 I think

Boy I cannot remember if runway 10 is right or left. Could I have the runway chart please?          Good - we made it. Now south to Frisco Smith. Know the way?

And the winterlandscape gives way for a more southern look.                                                          Almost feel like a swim in that lake... Oh no I think not - remember Salt Lake... Yuck

San Fransisco - so soon Smith? well time flies when you have fun... Lets land.                                     Bingo. Now how about that landing Smith? Good one right?

Well there you go Smith. We made it yet again.                                                                            Just park her over there to the right. Im off to the john.

Leg 5:

KSFO (San Fransisco - USA) to KLAS (Las Vegas - USA)

I had been saving up for a long time, to the short stay in Vegas. Maybe I could make a buck, or maybe I would loose a few. Fortune would decide. Smith is not a gambler he said, so I guess I would be alone in the casinos. I have a big cigar, and am ready to make my James Bond impression.

What could be worse than a turbolent flight?  A taxiride up and down the steets of San Fransisco.       But Smith and I survived it and now its was time for Vegas.

Oh I love Smiths new camera. Such good pictures he can take with it. Darn good Smith.                 Watch out for other traffic, right Smith? lots of it around here.

Glad you are on such good terms with the airforce here Smith. Or we could get in trouble.                Another fine American day for flying south. do they MAKE the weather here?

Look at this beautyful winter landscape Smith. God its nice. America is not only skyscrapers.               And more mountains than I remember from Nepal.... jeez

Vegas in sight. At least on the GPS. Ladies and Gentlemen, we begin the descent now.                Think you can find a hotel for us Smith? Two rooms for one night? Good lad.

And the verdict on the flight please!

Landing Score:136,90 (Yep - I knew I could count on you Smith. Ill buy you a $10 chip in a casino)

A splendid landing!

Flight Score:129,27 (Whaaaat? below 130? arh well... Ill live)

Leg 6:

KLAS (Las Vegas - USA) to KLAX (Los Angeles - USA)

I learned something last night. A penny saved is a penny earned. A penny spent - in a casino - is a penny thrown down the toilet! Philosophy from Ole Andreasen.
Smith wouldent take the ten bucks, so I saved those, and thus earned a tenner. I spent 342 dollars on the other hand, so I have to preserve fuel on the next flights to make up for my extravaganca...

I´ll rather go to the city of angles, and luckily that is the place we are going now Smith. Should we? Saw a movie with Meg Ryan and Nicolas Cage, called something like city of angles I think. Not a very good movie though...

Downtown Vegas. Im just glad I dont have to pay the electric bill here.                                          Off we go, towards the City of Angles.

Yes thats right Smith. Take a few extra pictures of that beautyful ground. Manmade indeed.            And now we head on. Gosh I need a Zero. well a Coke Zero, I meant, not landingscore...

Sun is setting, and the flat land it giving way again to more rough hillsides.                                    What the....? Smith? Are our tail on fire? I sure hope not, but it looks that way.

Aarh man. One beautyful sunset. Smith my man, you really know how to romantisize...                      And darkness is almost opun os when finally cuddling up in the pilots lounge. A Screwdriver please!

Smith my lad.... Let me have it - please.

Landing Score:119,10 (Jeez - that seems to be my capacity these days)

Landing included the following problems:

  • Poor glideslope on ILS approach - you can do better.
  • Ballooning during landing - needs practice.

Flight Score:125,82 (and another sub one-thirty - Irwing M. Fletcher - give me strength)

Flight included the following problems:

  • Exceeding gear speed - your landing gear may be damaged: have it checked.
  • Sickening G forces - your passengers feel rather unwell.
  • Rapid descent - dangerous and uncomfortable.
  • Narrowly missed tail strike - watch your pitch: this could have been bad.
  • Nose held too low - we're not in combat.

Leg 7:

KLAX (Log Angeles - USA) to MMCU (Chihuahua - Mexico)

Mexico. Boy those people really know how to cook. I simply love Mexican food. We HAVE to stay for a few days Smith, so I can taste all the different filled pancakes, called all sorts of exotic names... I love it.

I admit it. Its the same picture used as final pic on the previous flight. Smith overslept, so no pics from takeoff.          But now he was back and shooting sunset pics. And doing a great job at it.

From City of Angles, to Mexico. A good flight, I have been waiting for, for months.                    Look Smith, that mountain side there. Jeez man. Looks friggin awesome.

Start looking for Mexican flags Smith, We ought to be there just about now.                                 Bingo! Chihuahua in sight. And I thought Chihuahua was a kind of dog.

Flat and square. Should be a piece of cake landing here, Smith. I really think so.                             Touchdown. Not too bad huh? I knew it man. I still have it.

Lets baby this monstertruck into the parking space. Fill the parkometer Smith. We are going to be here a while.             Lock her up - Im off to the Fahitaplace... Want anything Smith?

Landing Score:30,00 (Whoo - I didnt see that one coming. Well I must take the blame. I was the captain.)

  • Too hard - may have damaged your landing gear.
  • Glideslope lost before you touched down - not your best effort.

MMCU (Chihuahua - Mexico) to MMMZ (Mazatlan - Mexico)

*Belch* sorry about that. Ive been stuffing myself with this wonderful Mexican food for three days now. Just couldent stop! must have gained a good 20 pounds now, and I feel a little woozy too, from all the Coronas that went with the food. When I get old, I wanna live here, and just eat myself to death. Thats the right way to go.

Ive said it before. All good things must come to an end. Good that we have more Mexican stops.          Lets get up, so we can get down, and get to eat some more Smith.

Dry dusty land here.                                                                                                               And then it just turned into this green highlands. I just love diversity.

Look at all those miniature trees Smith. Looks like Japanese minitrees, what are they called now?    Never mind  - Mazatlan dead ahead. and FOOD!

I dare not say anything anymore. But so far it looks fine from where I am sitting.                               And down we go. That really really was not so bad. Please.

Wonderful pic Smith. Got that from one of your girls in the tower? How do you do it?                           OK. we throw the plane in here, and give me the phone, Ill call for takeaway.

A nice weather for a flight Smith. I think I´ll dare, and take off my muff. How about that?                Hey why you grinning like that? arh you..... never mind.

What a nice top-down shot Smith. You friends with a satellite?                                                            Look a small airport down there. Wish we could land everywhere...

A postcard summer day Smith. Really cool.                                                                                       Humans really made an impact on the planet Smith. Visible everywhere.

Mexito City. Wasent it those guys who made a film about a bob-sleigh team? No? oh well.                         Strange runway. Looks like the taxiway just ends right in the runway... easy taxiing.

And good runway exits too. I like Mexico City Smith. Great airport.                                                    And room for parking also. Nice. And now its Enchilada time...
