If you have more than one sound output device and would be interested in testing a new feature of FSFS2009, whereby the user can tell FSFS2009 which device to use for its output, we'd like to hear from you.

This feature means that FSFS2009 output can go to a different device to the sound output by, for example, FSX.

Several users have expressed interest in being able to have engine sound, for example, output to their speakers, but voice from FSFS2009 output to their headphones.

Let us know via the forum or direct email to

info@FSFlyingSchool..com

if you would be interested in testing this feature on your system. The test is very simple and would involve nothing more than replacing your existing FSFlyingSchool.exe with a newer version.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

I think thats a great idea. I havent got two sound sources at the moment, but as my computer upgrade is in progress, I would like to try out the feature, and benefit from Smith talking to me in the headphones, and have the surrounding sounds be in the speakers. Just like it would be in real planes.

Great idea.

Yep.  I've got two sound cards - a Soundblaster X-Fi Fidel1ty Pro, and an on-board HD Audio capability on my Asus P6T Delux MoBo.  I actually want to separate the sounds the other way to the way you suggest - with VoxATC and my Cockpit-Chatter Co-pilot already in my headphones, I want the instructor to be as if he was in the jump seat or a Pax, and output to the speakers with the engine and environment sounds.  Sometimes it is just too confusing with 3 voices in the headphones!  Send me a copy of the .exe and I'll be happy to test it for you.

Tried to send to info, but bounced back. Yep, send it to me. I've got standard 5.1 speakers and a USB headset for the second sound output device. Definite yes!!

Copied it in, and now I'm in the middle of my flight. This is stage 8 of my flight around the world with a C182T. The sound for FSFS now comes out of the headset, and ATC from the speakers. Now that's what I'm talking about!! Great job on this fix!
