Good to hear that you have things working - great result!

We are looking at what could have gone wrong with the copy of the files into your FS folder. Is the folder on a different drive (should not matter but would help to know)?

Yes - you will need to do this (copy files into FS folder) for FS2004 if the operation presents the same problem, but it should work just as it did for FSX.

As to the autodetect of cruise and landing - we added this some time ago as folks requested some help in this area. We have not polled for statistical feedback on this feature, but I get the impression that most veteran FSFS flyers like everything manual - I know we do here at FSFS. It's a bit like driving a stick shift - you always know which 'mode' you are in. If you are in the wrong mode - it's your own fault!

The directory for FSX was on the same frive as the down loaded file. I will go manually to be sure things are working right. I probably not activate FSFS for FS9 because I only added this program fro the VRS FA 18E plane. Al of my FSFS flying will be with FSX. Again thanks for your help.

Hi SquadronLeader,

Thanks for the info. In FS9 I did find the folder "MakeRwys" (Beta Version 3.98). Then your instruction says "From here we need to run this program".

Sorry, but my scanty knowledge is not sufficient to do this. So please tell me how I have to proceed, what I have to do, where I have to click in order to "run" from inside your above mentioned FS9 folder.

Thanks in advance.

OK - you have found the MakeRwys.exe program in the Flight Simulator folder.

We need to run (as in launch or execute) the program MakeRwys.exe (the file extension may be hidden on your PC - just make sure it is a program)

To do this, just double left click on the program itself or you can even right click on it and choose OPEN from the popup menu.

This is the first stage of runway data creation. The program will take a few minutes to run and will show you what it is doing.

Then you need to find this program

FSFSRWYS.EXE

and run it - to do this, just double click on the program itself or you can even right click on it and choose OPEN from the popup menu.

This is the final stage of runway data creation. The program will take a few minutes to run and will show you what it is doing.

This should end in the creation of the file

FSFSRWYS.TXT

in the same folder.

That file contains all the runway data - drawn from Flight Simulator - for FSFS20009.

Can you try this and let me know what happens?
