VVTS to VTSS (December 7th, 2008) Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam to Hat Yai, Thailand.

Heading to all the islands of Indonesia, but one more stop in southern Thailand. Really could use a better score lately.

Starting a bunch of flights today...so let's start in the early morning.   Hey check it out...a US United 747 taxiing out to take off.


Neat looking river bending around the city.


Flying over Gulf of Thailand. Closing in Southern Thailand.


Mountains, and finally the airport.


Pretty close to the numbers....

VTSS to WMKK (December 7th, 2008) Hat Yai, Thailand to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

There was a pretty good movie called Entrapment that starred Sean Connery and Catherine Zeta Jones. Huge duel tower was built there...and what do you know. It's in my pictures. I attempted to scale between the two buildings but I couldn't move my legs let alone the dump I took in my pants being up so high.

Yikes...way off...sliding too far to the right...


Come on rudder help me out....crap....text book landing....sheeez. Neat looking shot in between the trees.

WMKK to WSSS (December 7th, 2008) Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Singapore, Singapore

Nice stay in Kuala Lumpur. Off to Singapore. Sounds exotic so I'll take the short hop of 160 nm.

Raining like crazy here...Couple Malayian big 747's in the pictures.


Out of the rain and into sunshine. City off in the far distance.


Lining up great. Oh...no....landing way to far down the runway...but a good landing...


Hey check this out...wish the picture was better but there's the double decker A380 parked in front of a hanger, and a huge 777 of Cathay.

WSSS to WIHH (December 7th, 2008) Singapore, Singapore to Jakarta, Indonesia

Off to Jakarta. Don't know much about Jakarta, but looks like a nice warm country with sunny tropical weather...

Raining like cats and dogs in Singapore.


Flying over cool looking islands and water.


Heading over the city of Jakarta. Lined up beautifully.

WARR to WADD (December 10th, 2008) Surbaya, Indonesia to Bali, Indonesia.

Bali High...Last stop in Indonesian Islands before heading to the land down under. Can't wait to see a men at work concert. Errr...right.

Not sure if they had flash flooding or if that's just the way the airport is. Cool looking water out in the distance.


Mountains, water, lakes....cool views.


Turning right to final. Make sure I get above the water....Well Bali is a non-ILS landing. So you know how that usually goes with me...


Not bad at all. Dang Smitty...cut me some slack.

WATT to YPDN (December 12th, 2008) Kupang, East Timor to Darwin, Australia.

I just heard a rumor that I can't wait to share. I heard Olivia Newton John is going to fly with me on my WWT Tour of Australia. Oh my...I better be on my best behavior.

Up up and away.


Leaving land for a long trip over the water. Cool looking clouds I flew over the whole way.


Yea! Land Ho! Had to fly south of the field, then back north'ish...


Well at first...I though I was lining up nicely....but something happened along the way to Darwin....

YPDN to YBAS (December 12th, 2008) Darwin, Australia to Alice Springs, Australia

Well as usual, one disappointment after another. Just found out that Olivia Newton John witness my landing, and she's gotten cold feet. I explained she would be in good hands, and that's what she said she was afraid of. She refused to get on, even after begging and pleading. Damn. Well on another brighter side....Qantas airlines has decided to loan us a few our there fleet in the midst of economic downturn and provided us a beautiful 737 and 747 to be used.

Qantas airliners....See ya Darwin.

YBAS to YPPH (December 13th, 2008) Alice Springs, Australia to Perth Australia.

We have a restaraunt chain here in the states called Outback Steakhouses. One of my favorite plates besides the steaks are Alice Springs chicken. Absolutely loaded with all kinds of bad stuff, but man is it good tasting. Had a nice dinner visiting the Aussie hospitality and had a few Foster's. One of my longest flights to date....good 3 hours in the air. Man I hope I can stay awake.

Early morning flight. View from ATC tower. Yep looking for runway 12. There it is.


Takeoff....nice rotation....How are you feeling Mrs. Robinson?


Closing in on the western city of Australia - Perth. Perth off in the distance.


Lining up nicely...Oh my....could be a good number.
