I just loaded FSFS  and I am trying to figure everything out however it appears for that some reason FSFS seems to be changing my views in FSX. The instructers saying some stuff and it seems he keeps switching to spot plane view, then Tower, etc.

Please help!

Does the view change even when you are not touching the keys?

A and S and many other keys change the view.

FSFS does not want to change the view - it has no logic in it to do that for any reason.

Are you running any other FS add-ons?

Please let us know.

Yes I'm sure I am not touching any keys and no keys are stuck. I know its odd but it started as soon as I got FSFS up. The only other addons I have have all ran fine for months.

Megascenery

Phoenix, SoCal, Las Vegas,

Fsdreamscapes Utah

Freeware;

Kevin Burn's Prescott photoreal and Tucson Photoreal.

Nothing that I could see would cause the problem and yet it started right after FSFS installed...

My system

Intel QX9650 (no overclocking)

2 BFG 8800 GTXs

Creative Xfi Fatality

EVGA 780i board

4 gigs RAM

Thanks guys! this stuff looks good Its just hard to land when your views get switched randomly, could it be FSUIPC?

We've never seen this before...

Were you using FSUIPC successfully before FSFS or did it get installed at the same time as FSFS?

How frequently does the view change occur on average?

Once every 30 seconds, every minute, every 5 minutes?

I am also checking with Pete Dowson's support to see what I can find...

Ya I know its an odd little glitch. I may go home and reload FSFS and the FSUIPC see if it happens again. It happens frequently and randomly I would say anywhere between 30 secs to 2 minute intervals. I really wouldn't think it was FSFS but it started IMMEDIATLY after it was installed. I checked my controllers, keyboard buttons nothing. I have never seen this before. I installed FSUIPC with FSFS and I am really stumped, its almost kinda funny. I hope that it gets fixed soon...

Your time is appreciated

At this point I want to apply the "what is unique about the PC?" question.

This behaviour is so unusual I can only imagine it must be some combination of uncommon factors specific to the PC in question.

1. Can you try running with no other applications loaded and no FS add-ons running (as far as is possible).

Load FSX - get plane on runway - load FSFS and connect. Go flying and report back.

2. Are you aware if your set up has any 'unusual' software which may process keystrokes running, e.g. Fraps, SnagIt, Camtasia...

3. Do you have any unusual hardware?

Yeah I'm also going to uninstall FSFS and see if it still happens. I meant to do that yesterday but I got caught up in things. It was funny I left the plane sitting on the runway for an hour or so while I did things around the house and  every once in a while the view would change with no one near the computer talk about a ghost in the machine...

I may not be able to get to this until tuesday due to work , but I will be checking the forums to see if you come up with any new suggestions

Thanks for your time I appreciate it,

Fang

Thanks for sticking with it!

I would be interested to hear what happens if FS is running with FSUIPC present as an add-on in the FS menu, but with FSFS not running.

If the view keeps changing then we know the problem is with FSUIPC alone and not FSFS.

This is quite unique and I am sure can be solved as FSUIPC is by far one of the best selling add-ons for FS ever created and its author is very responsive to support questions.

Can you please try this test and let me know?

Well Squadronleader, I think its confirmed.

I just got done flying an hour twenty minutes with no FSFS and NO VIEW CHANGES. I believe that FSFS is indeed the culprit, for whatever reason. I just decided to sit down with it off, FSUIPC installed and it did not once randomly change. I even had it running the replay for about 20 minutes repeatdly and still nothing. I do have the CD version FSFS so I'm sure its not up to date. I plan on downloading the demo tonight to see if the issue is resolved with the update. I'll post you in a few with the results.

Keeping my fingers crossed,

Fang

Well after much testing I am happy to confirm the problem has gone away. I deleted EVERYTHING regarding the older cd version and reinstalled the demo version. After that no more view changes! I did however in the first few flights have my engine cut out for no reason but that went away. (I'm not imagining this LOL) Anyway I would be surprised if you never hear about that glitch again, becuase it definatly was FSFS. I wonder if the cd version has a bug or if it was something just with my disc. It looked like a clean copy, no scratches or cracks...I just have no idea why FSFS would have committed random flight sabotaging acts like that (or even how for that matter). Really though I hope it doesn't come up again, FSFS seems to be a great program!

Let me know if you have any further questions

Fang
