FSFlying School P3D crashes P3D v2 when loading the terrain data, having selected a flightplan for an approach. I have updated FSUIPC to the latest version 4.921i.
The crash does not occur with P3D v1.4.
I am running P3D v1.4/v2 with Windows 7 64-bit.
If you have any further thoughts, then please let me know. It could be an incompatibility issue with the most recent version of FSFlying School P3D, but if anyone has experience using FSFlying School P3D with P3D v2 then please share your experience lest I be missing something. Another possibility is that FSUIPC is awaiting further update to be fully compatible with P3D v2.

Hi:
We've done extensive testing and found no problem flying approaches with P3D v2 with FSFS PRO 2013 for P3D, so there must be something different about your system.
Are you using other add-ons? Planes, scenery, others...?
Which runway were you asking to approach?
Which options (all of them) did you choose for your approach?
Which aircraft?
Which version of FSFS?
What exactly happens in P3D when the crash in it occurs? Any error messages?
Please let me know.

Hi Squadron Leader,
Just by way of testing I am using the default F-22 in P3D v2.
I was asking to approach runway 08 at KLFI (Langley, the default airfield in P3D v2).
I am using Version 2.3.0 of FSFS.
There are no specific error messages in P3D other than it can only get to 56-57% loading the terrain then a message appears to the effect that the program has stopped.
I have no problems with P3D v1.4.

Hi:
We have tested setting up approaches and landing at that runway, and its opposite runway, in that plane and others, and it works fine for us on all but one PC and on that one the issue was solved by running the 'generation of runway data' in FSFS. (See important details below first).
It must be remembered that FSFS PRO 2013 for P3D is for P3D v 1 and if it is working with P3D v 2 - this is, strictly speaking, a coincidence.
Lockheed have made many improvements and changes and one that must be noted is that the default installation goes to...
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2\"
You must make certain, when generating runway data, that the path at the "P3D folder" section of the Settings Screen of FSFS PRO 2013 P3D is pointing at the folder which contains the P3D program you want to run. If it is not, then generating the runway data will not help.
We are working on the release of a version of FSFS which is designed to fully support P3D v 2.

Mine does not work either. It worked ONCE and then no longer. Does that give you any clues about how to fix the problem?
All planes, all airports, modern intel processor and p3dv2 with NO add-ons running. It loads about 52% of terrain and then crashes p3d v2 with a fatal error.
I have windows 7 64 bit, fast nvidia video card. I disabled pause on p3dv2 and loaded runway data from FSFS and have up to date fsuipc version 4.923.
Help?

Hi:
Did you do this - making sure that the correct path is used?
'You must make certain, when generating runway data, that the path at the "P3D folder" section of the Settings Screen of FSFS PRO 2013 P3D is pointing at the folder which contains the P3D program you want to run. If it is not, then generating the runway data will not help.'
Also - when does the problem occur - when you are asking to be set up for an approach? At some other time?

HI,
I tried setting up for general instruction at KORD and everything ran fine. Then I got the idea that I might try
starting at KORD on the ground before I selected the airport KORD for landing approaches in FSFS and ran it with both Beach Baron 58 and also the F-22 on P3D and then it loaded and ran fine! I went back and tried to start at the default airport for starting in P3D V2 and FSFS crashed the sim or vice versa when trying to make the switch to KORD as directed by FSFS. ( I forgot which airport it starts at as default in P3D V2). So there you have it, you must start at the same airport in P3D V2 as you specify to start at for landing approaches in FSFS and it then works. I know when I had P3D first version and your FSFS 2.0 full pro 2013 version that FSFS successfully direct P3D to go to that location but now there is some conflict between the programs when you try to do that. So, it runs, but only as I described above. What do you think SQ. Ldr. and thanks in advance for your help.
Vince

Hi Vince:
Very interesting results and nicely described - thanks.
Can you download the latest FSUIPC and install and let me know what results you get - the latest version is 4.927a - as usual it is free and is here...

HI, thanks for all your help. I did what you said and it did not change the results. I do have some addons which I did not think about before.
Wilco Socata TBM80 and Wilco Feel There E jets. I have REx essentials which I do not have running when the problem occurs. I hope this can work out because I would love to use the full version. ***Also, can you tell me how to save settings for controllers because I have the full version of FSUIPC?**
Here is some information about messages that I receive when I install and other information.
tried installing FSUIPC4 4.927a to P3D v2 but during the install process get an error message
Quote
"Problem! Cannot edit the Prepar3D DLL.XML file to activate FSUIPC. Please make sure you run Prepar3D at least once before installing FSUIPC!"
after install:
Quote
FsuIPC4.DLL version 4.927a:
Installed into Prepar3D!
Please see the "FSUIPC4 User Guide" file
It is in the Prepar3D\Modules folder.
BUT it may not run because it is not included
in the DLL.XML file. Please re-run this installer
after runner Prepar3D.
I saw this on same post but I dont know if it is relevant.
make sure the DLL.XML file is write protected.
It is located:
C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2\
***Here is my install file for fsuipc, I dont know if the xml error is relevant because it may only be for the first version of P3D and not P3Dv2?? and fsuipc works for the controllers and settings in the full version that I have***

Squadron Leader,
Ignore the dll.xml file error message. This happens because of hkey entry in registry with installer looking for p3d 1.4 but everything
is installed correctly into p3d v2, it is just a spurious message.
