It was ATC telling me which runway to land. My flight plan came down the Irish see and made it easy approach to 08, however ATC told me to take an approach to the opposite end. In a previous flight to Humberside I was turning to finals and told to follow the Cessna on short final. I was a fair distance behind but like most AI planes he didn't leave at the first available exit. He was near the other end of the runway when I got to the perimeter, ATC told me to 'Go Around.' This I did, and got penalised for poor approach - I was told by FSFS to stick to the glideslope which I didn't. However I'm out of practice due to hard drive failure and replacement. This took some time and I've only recently got back to my favourit hobby. FSFS has given me an opportunity to sharpen my skills. Thankyou. Green Baron

I see! I have to say that ATC can be pretty free with the 'go around' instruction and they often need to issue it because of rather poor spacing. I've had 747's fly into the back of me, etc - oh boy... But to get to the central point, FSFS does not contain logic which analyses what ATC is telling you to do. This can result in the sort of experience you describe. Most of the time this is not a problem, but if the airport is busy, or there is a disagreement over the runway intended, things can become... less satisfying. One of the main methodologies which is emerging with FSFS is that if you want to pop a stunning new high score onto one of our web tables, turn off failures, ATC and traffic. This means there's nothing out there to get in the way. HOWEVER - this is not how you would normally fly with FSFS, so in all other cases, leave them all on and enjoy the product. You will still be able to score (you always score), but things can happen to make very high scores difficult. As mentioned elsewhere on this forum, failures are very interesting but they do not affect your score in any way, i.e. you get no bonuses. This is something we are about to integrate into the program in a later version. For now you can just enjoy bits falling off that flying accident you've decided to captain...
