Great to hear you are up and flying with us! Lots of folks out there are flying with us just fine with Windows 7, but you are quite right, all new versions of Windows have their little differences, some of which will make unusual things happen on a very small percentage of PCs. Most folks have no trouble at all, but once in a while something unusual will show up. This can be due to all kinds of things such as (but not limited to): -The user is a programmer and has all kinds of weird settings... -Unusual sound config -Unusual keyboard processing -FS has been moved or renamed or deleted or uninstalled on the PC -FS or FSFS or FSUIPC was not installed as the same, admin user -FS or FSFS or FSUIPC are not being run as the same, admin user, who installed them As to the keys - it's a slippery business. Yes they may work in FSX without following the steps we recommend and will almost certainly work in FS2004 regardless of when you start FSFS, but we try to get everyone to launch the programs the same way because if you do that - the keys will work. The key processing depends on a delicate mix of information molecules being passed back and forth between FSFS and FSUIPC and FS, and this requires the help of tiny virtual elves in the PC - well - at least that's my story and I am sticking to it... Best of luck with your flights!
