Nicely on course 1300ft agl 305/72nm to MWCB. Fifteen miles form destination I got distracted by the dinner gong, reduced spee to 90kts - went to have a bite to eat, no problem. Or so I thought

Having finished dinner with a large double choc fudge Ben & Jerry's icecream ( 1/2 price offer at Tesco's) I returned to the control and bugger me with a #@+# sideways. I had overshot by 10 miles normally not a problem but H. was telling me I was bvelow the glidepath. But I still cruising--aren't I. Quick check & I'm in landing mode  What?????? (It's deselected) and I've amassed 123 pilot errors Re-selected "cruise", turned arround & came into land a little dischuffed hence I overshot the spot by 130ft.

At the debrief I just sat there with my mouth wide open, trying to say something but I just managed to dribble down my flight suit. I was in shock!

Landing Score:65.60
Autopilot used.

Landing was successful in the following areas:

  • Good glideslope on visual approach.
  • Gentle touchdown.
  • Good landing speed - not too fast.
  • Wings were level.
  • Distance from touchdown target (visual approach): 130 feet
  • Glideslope held until flare.
  • Good pitch control after touchdown.
  • Good pitch at landing.
  • With flaps - good job.
  • Heading aligned with runway.
  • Throttle(s) idle.
  • Good controlled final descent to touchdown.
  • Nicely handled crosswind.

Landing included the following problems:

  • Poor alignment with runway on visual approach - line up and stay there.
  • Poor steering after landing - stay on the centre line.

Definite room for improvement...

Flight Score:47.60
Autopilot used.

Flight included the following problems:

  • Rough turns - your passengers spilt their drinks and have a pain in their necks.                Tough!
  • Steep banking - save your aerobatic flying for some other time.                                    Whose flying this thing?
  • Rough pitch control - that flight felt like a rollercoaster.                                               Weeeeeeeeee
  • Wings not level near ground - danger of clipping a wing.
  • Dangerous stalls - don't let that happen again.                                                           Stalls ??? I was 90kts &  on autopilot
  • Rapid descent - dangerous and uncomfortable.                                                          Ahhhh didoooms
  • Nose held too low - we're not in combat.                                                                  Whose not in combat?
  • Flaps not down on time - plan your landing next time.                                                 That's your oppinion
  • Excessive speed at low altitude - several complaints have been filed.                             By whome - Penguins (All flap & no fly)

I need to lie down, I'm mortified!
