Hello everyone

Just install the FSF v5.5.1 on FSX and have Run-time error 2147023728 (80070490) Automation error Element not found, after looking all the posts related to it could not fix the problem.

Hi Tony:

Sorry to hear you are having a problem with the program.

This is almost certainly related to sound hardware or software and can almost certainly be resolved.

Please answer all these questions so we can help.

Did FSFS run on the PC fine before you installed the version you mentioned?

Which was the previous version number?

Please download the latest (5.7.8) version and install. Same problem?

Do you have any sound software or equipment that is not standard Windows software or not built-in sound equipment?

Do you have USB sound equipment? If so try testing with it plugged in or not plugged in and... what were the results? (One case just like this needed the microphone to be plugged in - would not work otherwise). Same test goes for headphones.

If you are comfortable editing a file - please edit (with Windows Notepad) one line of the settings.ini file that you show in your post, to read:
Mode=0
replacing...
Mode=2

Please let me have your answers and we will go from there!
