First and foremost, I am a simple soul but am prepared to spend lots of time to make things work.

When first installed, both Flying school and X-Plane10 worked perfectly together. I have no idea what I might have changed, if anything, but now I can get no sound at all from Flight School. This is what I have done.

1 I have read through a number of the postings on this topic.

2 I have ensured that I run Flying School as an Administrator and also in Windows 7 (my operating system)

3 I have dabbled with autoplay in the Control Panel and left it on "install or run Programs from your media"

4 I have tried the sound files outside of the Flying School software and nothing happened until I switched on ITunes when all the sound and speech worked properly but only when I clicked on the file in "SOUNDS"

5 There is no combination of "listen in Instructor" in Flying school that I can find that generates any sound at any level.

6 The display captions function works so I know that X-Plane and FS are communicating.

I am so frustrated because I am sure that I have done something dsft so your help to get me listening again would be wonderful.

Many thanks

Graham

Hi -

You may have accidentally changed the "Sound card setup" at the Settings Screen of FSFS for X-Plane?

Can you try different settings there and let me know what you find?

Please also give me a listing of all the devices listed in the "Other:" list at that section of the screen?

The sound card is ticked for all Sounds.

All of the slider options are set at 50% or above.

I do not have the "OTHER" option that you mention on sounds and I can't see it elsewhere.

Thanks.

I need the information from the "Sound card setup" at the Settings Screen of FSFS (FSFlyingSchool) for X-Plane.

Please let me know so I can try to help.

MATTER FIXED!!

Good morning Squadron Leader.

Not sure whether to apologise for wasting your time or whether the sharing of information is always a positive.

I have discovered through working on a bit of music that my Centre and |Sub-Woofer lead had come loose.

It appears that Flying School only speaks through the centre speaker (at least on my system) and now that I have plugged it in properly it is working well.

Once again, sorry to have wasted your time

p.s. Just idle curiosity, but I was'nt sure from your answers whether you are UK or US based

Hi -

Excellent! A resolution!

No problem with the posts - it's always good to have more information (case histories) here at the forum for other folks to look over.

We are UK based. Some of the team are Americans and I was in California for many years.
