Do I need to set the autopilot to capture the LOC and GS when doing an ILS approach? I don't seem to be capturing these when i set an approach. Also, will the payware planes from Feelthere and others need to be setup for the approach? Thanks
Mike

Hi -
First - above all - please try the free demo. We only want you to purchase if you are already happy with the program.
If NAV1 is tuned to the ILS frequency of the runway you are approaching and you are close enough and at an appropriate altitude and angle to the runway and you are using NAV rather than GPS, then you should capture GS and LOC (if available). This is regardless of any setting on the autopilot.
Lots of folks have had great success with add-on planes, but we cannot state that FS Instant Approach will work with anything except FSX and FS2004.
I do not believe we have yet had a report of any plane NOT working with FSIA. I know some folks are using Carenado, Just Flight, PMDG and A2A for example.

Thanks for the fast reply. I have purchased the product and it is registered.
I'll try using the settings you suggest and see if I capture the GS.
As I understand, I can select the plane and airport, click Fly Now, and then set any airport approach I want. Do I also need to enter a flight plan or be at the airport I want to approach?

Hi -
Your understanding is correct and you do not need to enter a flight plan, nor be at the airport.
The idea of FSIA is to let you bounce around the world flying approaches in no time at all - lots of fun - and good practice!
If you have not yet - please time a moment to read the PDF manual installed with the product. It's the best way to get the most out of our products.
