Greetings. I saw this prgram today advertised by Suclaro and decided to try the demo, it installed fine and I set up a flight with a Carenado C210 from O'Hare to KUGN, a short flight, taxi was fine, the instructor told me not to taxi with flaps down.
Take off was good also with gear up call coming quite quickly, but he was saying too fast for flaps at around 90kias?

Anyway, I andvanced it to cruise mode and he thought we were landing on 23 as I had tuned into the localizer, actually I was intending to land a BC on 05 but decided to play along and set up an approach for 23, which went well enough until at 90 kias and about 2 miles out I dropped the gear and flaps, the instructor was then calling too fast for flaps and "Let's get the gear up" despite the fact that he had already stated we were in landing mode. I am pretty sure I did not want to practice gear up landings in my shiny Centurion, so I ignored his repeated calls for it.

Later I checked the .fsr file for this plane and I see I was well inside the limits, 140 kias for gear and 115kias for stage 1 flaps, so what was that all about?

Looking at the interface I see that although the plane is recognized, the settings are not, they are all at 0 and the menus are all greyed out so I guess the demo doesn't allow for setting up the plane properly. I liked it enough to get it though. Still awaiting the key mind.

No problem in making changes in aircraft specs in demo mode. You just need to follow a few steps.

1) Make sure you are disconnected from FSX. You cannot make changes to an aircraft while FSFS is connected.
2) When disconnected, click on the "user specified data" Now you can enter data.
3) Enter all the data you wish in the square fields
4) Click the "sava user data" and your file is finished. You have now made a .fsu file which FSFS will remember next time you use the aircraft. It works fine, except that you cannot upload scores to the FSFS website from a .fsu file. (Because all sorts of faul data can be inserted, and to have a score recognized FSFS needs to be sure its made with the correct data.)

Hope this helps.

Hi -

Thanks for your interest in FSFS!

All keys are sent within 24 hours.

The experience you have described is very unusual - I can only imagine that something was not set correctly - the requirements of the program and the instructors are described in great detail in the manual and we recommend everyone read it to get the most enjoyment out of FSFS.

I got my keys, thanks for that! I am still having a little difficulty though, I am using a Freeware C310Q but when I load up FSFS it does not see the plane at all, ie in the section Data source, where it says the current flight simulator aircraft is: is followed by a blank space, I entered in the information to the relevant sections and saved it, but the next time I loaded it all up it is back where I started, when you save it does a dialogue box appear or does it just save the file? I made an fsu file manually from the blank sheet and named the file the same as the planes folder, but nothing shows up. What did I miss?
