Hi all,

I have MSFS X with SP1.

Installed FsFlyingSchool and it does see MSFSX just fine.

Installed FSUIPC 4.152

Started MSFS, Started FSFlyingSchool

Selected Flight Cessna 172 and even created Flightplan for Chicago

Here's the problem....

Sometimes FSUIPC shows up as addon. When it does.. nothing from FlySchool. No Voice, no text.

I've tried reloading, reinstalling everything.

Can not select Flightmode from keyboard either.

I really want to try this Demo before I buy.

Anyone else have this trouble?

Hello there.

The good news is that FSFlyingSchool is running all over the world on FSX and FS2004 without problems - I am sure we can get there.

>> Hi all,

Sometimes FSUIPC shows up as addon. When it does.. nothing from FlySchool. No Voice, no text.

Can you expand on what's happening when "Sometimes FSUIPC shows up as addon.". What do you see when it is there and what do you see when it is not?

>> "When it does.. nothing from FlySchool. No Voice, no text."

This is very puzzling because FSFlyingSchool requires FSUIPC to be active in order to communicate with FS. In other words we could expect nothing from FSFlyingSchool if FSUIPC were not active, but not the reverse.

>> I've tried reloading, reinstalling everything.
Can not select Flightmode from keyboard either.

Does this mean that FSFlyingSchool has worked on your system at some point?

Thanks for the interest - we really want you to try it and if it works to your satisfaction, to consider registering it.

Overall, we have found it best to:

1. Make sure FSUIPC is running fine with FSX. If it is not, it is impossible for FSFlyingSchool to work.

2. Launch FSX and do all the preliminary actions first before launching FSFlyingSchool. So... pick your aircraft, flight, flight plan, etc. Get it all ready with the aircraft either on the ground ready to go, or even in the air if you are just practicing landings.

3. Finally, load FSFlyingSchool and press the connect button.

Try this procedure and let us know how you get on.

Progress so far...

I started up in a "Clean Boot" configuration using msconfig. Seems thats the only way to get FSUIPC4 to work and show up as an Addon. (Windows XP Pro Edition SP2)

Made a SimConnect Log file and watched it.

The problem I think is with SimConnect..Sometimes it connects with FSFS, sometimes not. When it does connect  FSFS works. I have a  flightplan Loaded in MSFS and on the runway, then Connect to FSFS, then the advance mode keystrokes work IF the ATC window is not open. How annoying that is as I'm trying to learn how to get around the airport.

Anyway, I think it a timing issue because FSFS will complain about a pitch manuever will be to rough 10 sec or more afterwards.

I also have the problem where after I've been flying for 30 mins or so loss of attitude control.

Also noticed that when FSUIPC is running ok FSFS connects but no aircraft is loaded in the aircraft section.

I saw some things on Pete Dowson's web forum to try but I' getting really discouraged that I have to go through all this.

Unless something is wrong with my MSFS X install I'm at a loss!

Thanks,

Dean

Splendid! FSUIPC has to be working with FSX first or we can go no further.

>> Made a SimConnect Log file and watched it.

It is probably unrelated, but as this 'extra', we must ask if you have you tried running without this?

We are looking at the ATC window issue - this was not the case with FS2004 and is not consistent in all installations of FSX.

>> Anyway, I think it a timing issue because FSFS will complain about a pitch manuever will be to rough 10 sec or more afterwards.

Timing is usually perfect (well - a response from FSFS within 0.5 seconds of when the event occurs). If it is not, this is always (so far) due to the equipment involved or other software running on it, or the settings of the Windows priority being given to applications (such as setting FSX priority to 'high' which can cripple all other applications).
Ideally the user has a machine on which FS2004 or FSX is running pretty darned slick but without having changed its Windows priority. Also - very little extra software running - best of all - none. How is the PC in question configured?

>> I also have the problem where after I've been flying for 30 mins or so loss of attitude control.

This is interesting! We've never received such a report before. The pilot cannot change the aircraft's attitude in any axis?

>> Also noticed that when FSUIPC is running ok FSFS connects but no aircraft is loaded in the aircraft section.

This would normally be the case of the aircraft is not known to FSFS. Was this the case? What was / were the aircraft?

>> I saw some things on Pete Dowson's web forum to try but I' getting really discouraged that I have to go through all this.

I am sure we can get there in the end - we have an excellent rate of success and we're glad to help.
