Dear All: Wonder if anyone can help me with this. Voice recognition on my Win 7 barely seems to understand anything I say, sometimes telling me it is picking up nothing at all, and so I haven't even begun to proceed onto using voicepack in FSX. My Microphone on headphones is a decent one which I use with Dragon Naturally Speaking 11 with no problems so I don't think that is the problem. Is there any way of linking voice pack through Dragon? This is a much more sophisticated and accurate programm. Anyway if anyone can help I would be most grateful. Thanks

Have you been able to setup Windows Speech Recognition, including "training" the software to understand your voice?
It's covered in the Voice Command Pack manual.
With Win 7 there is no need to turn on anything to do with Voice Recognition in Windows - you just install FSFS and use it, although you do need to have done at least a few minutes of voice training.

John Paul, That's just it. I can't train the thing: it either doesn't seem to pick anything up or says that it can barely detect what I'm saying, and this despite the fact that I use speech recog'n software already and without problems. Shrug

Do you have the Dragon speech software disabled when you try to use the Win 7 speech training?
Ideally the Dragon speech software would be turned off (and unloaded) when voice training and then when using FSFlyingSchool as it will only slow your PC down.

I can't get my Win 7 machine to recognize ANY of my microphones. They all worked on the same machine when XP was installed, and they work on my wifes netbook, so I have to go without voice commands. Not fun.
