Hi,
I'm reading about a V 2.4 of FSFlyingSchool :
"Posted Friday, January 21, 2011 8:26:07 AM
FSFlyingSchool2011 version 4.2 Released
Those few pilots who had trouble with being told they landed off the runway surface when they did not should now see that this has been resolved."
Well, that's for me, because I can't land anywhere without a "off the runway" issue, I belong to those "few pilots".
But I've dowloaded today the demo from the site, and, one more time, (de- and re-) installed the software, but still get a V 4.0.4 version, and, no
need to say, still the "off the runway" pattern.
Let me say that FSFlyingSchool is not only a very efficient school for flying, but also for patience and perseverance. Worth the money
Best regards
Thierry

Yes - sorry about that - we explained here on the forum that it was published with the wrong version number shown: http://www.fsflyingschool.com/forum/Topic8482-5-1.aspx But the date shown in the program (Jan 21) is correct. It is the latest version of the program and we are hard at work resolving the "landed off runway" situation for the people who are experiencing it. The situation appears to be a combination of non-English Windows PCs and PCs on which FSX has been installed and removed and re-installed OR on which 3rd party scenery has been installed and removed and, in some cases, re-installed.

My oh my.... That sounds like a very tough nut to crack. But of course I trust you egg-heads to find the solution and leave the rest of us in awe, as always.

Any progress on this issue? I downloaded and installed the latest version but still have that problem on some runways. Here is the log book of my last flight : FSFlyingSchool 2011 (Jan 21 2011) Using: FSX Visibility: 62.14 Miles Wind: 0 Knots
Aircraft: BOMBARDIER ID: NCRJ70 Airline: Orbit Flight: Flight plan: CYYJ TO CYVR : NAV1: IFZ Failure(s): None at landing Failure Event(s) (Zulu Time): None Failure Bonus:0% Flight Duration:00 Hours 22 Mins 28 Secs
Landing Score:25.21 Autopilot used.
Landing was successful in the following areas: - Good glideslope on ILS approach. [100%]
- Good alignment with runway on ILS approach. [100%]
- Gentle touchdown. [236 FPM]
- Good landing speed - not too fast. [113 KIAS]
- Wings were level.
- Glideslope held until flare.
- Good pitch control after touchdown.
- Good pitch at landing.
- With flaps - good job.
- With spoilers armed.
- Heading aligned with runway.
- Throttle(s) idle.
- Good controlled final descent to touchdown.
- Good steering after landing.
Landing included the following problems:
- Landed without a proper approach OR off runway surface.
Definite room for improvement...

Hi again - We plan to publish an update to FSFS2011 within the next 10 days that, we believe, will finally resolve this for all users, regardless of where they are and regardless of which airports they land at. Our beta testing of the update has produced excellent results, which we are excited to pass on to our users!
