Greetings. I've installed FSX, FSFlyingschool and FSUIPC using Win 7 Ultimate and it doesn't work.

I place an airplane on the ground ready for flying, then exit to Desktop. I run FSFlyingschool, click Connect which it does, and return to FSX. All I get is a black screen. Clicking anywhere returns me to Desktop.

Hi:

A few questions:

1. Are you using a demo of FSFS2010 or the registered version?

2. Is the PC using a non-standard video configuration, such as multiple monitors, etc.?

3. Is FSX set to "pause on task switch"? You may wish to toggle to its opposite setting in order to examine the effect.

4. Try FSX in Windowed mode if it is not already - this makes things easier to follow and may affect your results.

Please let us know how you get on.

I've gone to windowed mode and FSF is now working okay.

I'm using the registered version of FSX and using 1 monitor.

"Pause on task switch" doesn't appear to be an option in FSX.

I'm running FSX on 4 Cores in tandem with ATI 5970.

Great that you got it running...

Im sure SL meant if you used the registered version of FSFS.... You cannot run an unregistered version of FSX far as I know...

Regarding the "Pause on task switch" it IS an option in FSX.

Open "Settings" in the main startup screen. click "general" and you will see "Pause on task switch" in the top left box called "Program" (Second option)

Just uncheck that, and FSX will continue to run even if you switch to another window. (Sound will be lost though...)

Thanks for the info, chaps. Time to crash my Trike yet again, and that's just the first lesson in FSX. With FSF it should be a lot easier crashing than it was before. At the moment I need 3 arms to get my Trike in the air. Using FSF should take away much of the stress. I need to set up my joystick as opposed to using the keyboard.
