Running FSX program by itself and all functions AOK, pilot errors excepted. FSUIPC is installed and running OK ---Log shows that FSX is recognised,--Sim Connect OK,-flight plans etc all OK. But when the FS school is opened, FSX goes into 'simulation paused' and 'P' key has no effect, and the settings page shows --'flight sim not found'-- and 'connect' is greyed out, and FCUIPC times out.. Installation has been as per the tutorials. Hardware AMD4 core , 6 mb memory , video graphics OK , Norton all OK. FS registered OK. Have followed other Forum answers but without success. Disappointment all round. FS Support have offered reimbursement, but I would rather be flying with Mr Smith in the RH seat. Any ideas chaps to keep a octogenarian happy.

For some reason on that PC, FSUIPC cannot communicate between FSX and FSFS. This is most likely due to Windows security blocking comms. Try launching both FSX and FSFS by right clicking on them and choosing "Run as Administrator". This might convince Windows that you are the boss. Please let us know how you get on.
