First off let me say that I love this add-on, everything works very good accept for the bird strike feature. I have been having a problem with the bird strike happening without the key phrase being spoken. I have set my speech recognition and programed the speech for about an hour and a half, turned mic sensitivity down to about 30% and put a foam covering over it to filter out background noise. I tried to use the mic on command feature but FSFS disconnects because I am using a USB headphone to listen to the instructor. I really would hate to turn off the mic because that would be a waste of money since i paid for the voice command pack. Is there any way to disable the bird strike feature, or can you tell me how I would need to configure my sound settings to use the mic key.

Windows 7, studio XPS 8100, i7 core 2.8, 8GB Ram, FSX Deluxe, FSFS w/Cessna 172 & Voice command, Saitek Yoke w/Twin Quadrants, saitek Multi-panel - switch panel - radio panel, Track IR5, matrox TH2G, USB Headset. that should about cover all that I am using, If you need any other info let me know.

one problem partially fixed. I reset my headphone as the default sound card so I can now set the mic to work only when key is pressed. however none of the FSFS key commands work, including the (5 Key) for the mic.

Well don't i feel silly, I think I figured out the answer to that other problem now, I was connecting FSFS before I started the flight, if I start the flight first then connect FSFS the key commands work. not sure if that will stop the bird strike's yet or not.

Hi:

Thanks for purchasing our products.

Yes - you certainly need to get into a plane in FSX before you even launch FSFS as explained in the manual or else the keys may not function correctly.

The bird strike can only be triggered by the command and this specific command cannot be turned off as an option. Folks all over are enjoying it with and without USB headsets - please let us know how you get on.

You are not crazy - I am having the same problem. The "bird Strike" is a fatal error, totally destroys the flight and should be VERY HARD to trigger - not easy as it appears to be.

It has nothing to do with when you open or connect FSFS.
