Hi

Please read the section in the manual about chosing either an ILS or a visual approach to landing - they are very different in FSFS.

If using ILS, follow the needles on your instruments which will show you if you are above or below the glideslope to the runway you are landing at.

The runway may have lights (called VASI or PAPI) and these can be used too, to see if you are too high or low.

If you are not using ILS, use these runway lights if available.

Let us know how you get on.

Yep, gto that (says a red faced rookie) whilst I have your ear just had another issue the volume on FSFS has gone lower, somtimes I don't hear it over the enigines noise, I have tried to use it on loud and loudest but then it distorts the voice. Any ideas about this.

thanks

Hi!

I don't know if you have already tried, but sometimes the best method is to slightly turn down the sound in FSX. You have a lot of options here - you can adjust engine sound, cockpit sound, etc selectively.

When you are in a plane, go to the menu bar and pick:

Options... Settings... Sound...

Give it a try!

Hi,

Not sure if this will help, but I have configured my sound card to play engine sound through my PC speakers and voice through my headphones. I'm not sure if all sound cards can do this though.

It's a good landing if you can still get the doors open.

thanks for your suggestions regarding the sound, I will try them out when my new set of head phones arrive.

SL
And yes I did try adjusting the engine sounds and the rest before asking the question, what I can't understand is that it seemed to work fine when I first installed fsfs2010 at times I can hardly hear it, I will let you know how I get on.

Cloudmaster,
how did you set your sound up to use engines thru the PC and voice thru the headset ?

thanks again guys, let you know the outcome.

Hi

I have Realtek Audio Manager installed, it's a free download from Reatek Audio.

Plug your speakers into the rear of your PC and the headphones in the front.

Go to device advance settings, where you see 'playback device' select "Make front and rear output devices playback two different audio streams simultaneously"

Then go down to  'recording device'  and select "Seperate all input jacks as independent input devices"  Click OK

make sure that Speakers are set to default device, click OK to close window..Done!

It's a good landing if you can still get the doors open.
