Has anyone a fix for this. even 'text to speech' refuses to recognise ILS and NAV1 and any attempts to speak it result in garbage

Hi -

We have to begin at the beginning.

Have you read the Voice Command Pack manual (this is essential) and followed all the steps it describes in setting up Windows Speech Recognition, including "training" the software to understand your voice?

Must admit that with my Australian accent the voice software seems to rapidly approach struggletown with most prompts the "be quiet please" prompt works 1 out of 10 attempts and I tend to use stronger language the less this works (to little avail).

Hi Dogdoor:

The good news is that there should be no problem with any accent if the Windows Speech Recognition has been properly trained.

Have you read the Voice Command Pack manual (this is essential) and followed all the steps it describes in setting up Windows Speech Recognition, including "training" the software to understand your voice?

Yes Squadron Leader Sir (22 years in)

I have trained with 4 passages. (90% commands respond correctly.  If i Say ILS slowly It responds (Text to speech) as I.L.S. with full stops.    Haven't tested it on FSX yet.  Hopefully it will work

Sounds good.

It's all down to Windows - the ability to recognise your voice depends totally on how well Windows does it. If it is 90% then FSFS will be 90% too.

This is one reason why it is so important that we offer free demos so that folks can try it out first before even thinking about buying.
