Stumbled over this site with a few small programs that - if it holds true - should make life a little easier for you when flying. I havent tried it out yet, but I will tonight (friday) and report back.

But see for yourself. Its free, and its - well - free!

I dont know how many people have used this realtrim but it is quite and intersting wee program. very good for take off landing and level flight but you still need to tap the buttons for fine trimming. Overall worth alook guys if you have a spring loaded joystick anyway.

LOL

I read your post, and thought - what is realtrim? Why didnt you provide a link

Then I looked up, and saw that it was ME who initially posted the link. Jeez - need I say that I never got around to trying it out? But hey, thats great, as I could now get the thrill of a new free program - again!

Who said Alzheimer light?

Ole

Greetings Fellow Flyers:

I tried this program and, initially I couldn't see much difference, so I did some checking. I found in the "RealTrim.txt" under the FSX install instructions - the "dll.xml" section - as follows:

and add the following lines before the last line like so

....
< Launch.Addon>
< Name>RealTrim< /Name>
< Disabled>False< /Disabled>
< Path>.\modules\realtrim.dll< /Path>
< Commandline/>
< /Launch.Addon>
< /SimBase.Document>

I compared this to the entry for FSUIPC 4 and found this:

< Launch.Addon>
< Name>FSUIPC 4< /Name>
< Disabled>False< /Disabled>
< Path>Modules\FSUIPC4.dll< /Path>
< /Launch.Addon>

difference being:

in the "< Path>" line there is no ".\" (dot-backslash) before "Modules". I removed these and Realtrim seems to be doing what it is supposed to.

Note 1: I tried to run the program without the "< Commandline/>" entry and no-joy. This must be present. Without it I get a "fatal error".

Note 2: PLEASE DO NOT COPY AND PASTE FROM THIS POST !!! I had to insert spaces to allow the .xml code to display properly in this post.

Thought I would pass this along for anyone else to try...
