I have been using Ctrl-Shift-Z to activate the altitude bug on a programmed key.  Since FSFS uses this for a Flight Mode I tried changing my previous Ctrl-Shift-Z to Ctrl-Shift-B.  When FSFS is not running I can use the new mapping (Ctrl-Shift-B), but when FSFS is running it stops my programmed Ctrl-Shift-B key from being recognized.

So I can't use Ctrl-Shift-1 as an alternate, because even if I do FSFS still won't let me use Ctrl-Shift-Z, and as I mentioned above if I change it to Ctrl-Shift-B on my other mapping software (or even within FS2004 with the keyboard) it doesn't recognize it.  Does anyone know of a way around this or is there a way to tell FSFS to only use Ctrl-Shift-1 as a default and release the Ctrl-Shift-Z mapping?

Thanks for your help     /Mike

Hi Mike:

I see what you mean.

Sorry - there is no way to prevent FSFS from using any of the keys that it does, but I would think that, as with even FSX there are still quite a lot of keys that are unused, you could try mapping some other keys until you can get one to work? I dare say there are lists on the web or maybe another forum member can help?

Also - keep in mind that since FSFS2009 v 2.2 the following applies...

New Hotkey
Pressing Ctrl Shift B provides handy data to the pilot who wants to know current: AGL (above ground level), ground altitude and also displays the count of errors (if any) that the instructor has noted in this flight. To the sharp eyes of these instructors, flying the wrong way for half a second counts as an error so these can add up fast!

Please let us know how you get on.
