Hi guys

I allowed myself a little present, for winning the Caribbean 100 tour. I did all the flights in the default FSX Cessna 172 SP Skyhawk, and now I really needed to get a better C172 plane ( I have a plan of having every one of the default planes (the ones I would consider flying that is) replaced with good quality addon-planes, and so the C172 is a must, and Carenado just makes better planes....

A few pics of it.

Well thank you Jeff.

How does she handle?

Well truth of the matter is that I only got to fly her about 10-15 minutes while taking the screens you see above. I was so busy yesterday, posting stuff everywhere, and writing emails. Im on another flightsim site, that is struggling to stay alive, and I spend time suggesting changes to keep it up - and all sorts of other stuff going on, BUT

your question made me think about flying the C172. My flying time pre-FSFS was mostly in the C172, as it is for many others. Then came along FSFS and in the World Wide Tour, I learned to fly B737 and B747 and the little Cessna became completly forgotten. But when getting involved with the smaller FSFlyingSchool tours I had to fly small planes again. I was so much a stranger to the Cessna when I came back to it. Felt that it jerked around by the smallest touch of the controls, but the C100 tour, with 100 flights in the C172 made me come to terms with her again.

And! (now Im getting to my point) When flying in the Carenado C172 II N, yesteday, I actually felt the weight of the plane more. It was not jerking around, even though its a small plane. I could manouver it around with a greatest of ease, just like the bigger twin engines machines.

This was brought to my attention by your question, and it kinda makes me think of how inaccurate the default FS 2004/X planes really are.

So I have made myself a master plan, to take every plane I like in FSX and buy a good payware version of it. I saw yesterday that Carenado also made a Mooney, soooooo it might not be a long time before I have another post on the Credit card bill, to explain to my wife.
