Hi,

I just got FSFlyingSchool 2009 at the weekend. Unfortunately my favorite plane isn't listed in the recent aircraft zip file so was hoping that someone may have already found the info for the CARENADO MOONEY 201 M20J FSX ?

I looked through the aircraft pdf files that came with the model but can't seem to find the data required for FSFlyingSchool 2009

I know in real life I'll only get to fly a Cessna but the 201 M20J with a Russell White HD repaint looks incredible.

Look forward to any replies

Thanks,

Andrew

Hi Andrew5x2

I found this little on the web.

Mooney 201 (M20J) - Performance Data

Horsepower: 200Gross Weight: 2740 lbs
Top Speed: 175 ktsEmpty Weight: 1671 lbs
Cruise Speed: 170 ktsFuel Capacity: 64 gal
Stall Speed (dirty): 53 ktsRange: 690 nm
TakeoffLanding
Ground Roll: 880 ftGround Roll 770 ft
Over 50 ft obstacle: 1550 ftOver 50 ft obstacle: 1550 ft
Rate Of Climb: 1030 fpm
Ceiling: 18800 ft

In the Microsoft *\Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes\Carenado mooney, you will find an aircraft.cfg. Open this one with notepad, and look in there. It often contains all the info you need.

Hope this helps

Andrew:

Thanks for purchasing FSFS2009.

I don't know what you've already tried, but keep in mind that whereas FSFSClassic required data to exist for each plane, FSFS2009 does not. It will automatically create the profile data it needs for any powered airplane.

It is using its best guesses at some of the data (not a lot), but it is usually pretty darned good. The PC Pilot review said its performance in this area was "perfect".

If you then wish to alter the data you can within the FSFS program - but this is only if you want to - not required.

Please also note that in the folder Ole described in his forum post, you will also (probably) find a couple of files, which in for example the case of the Mooney are called:
mooney_bravo_check.htm
mooney_bravo_ref.htm

and these files can often be used to find the information you need.

Please let us know how you get on.
