So far I am really finding the program an asset to my flying skills both simulated and real world. Lots of great stuff. I have my failure slider set at 90% for now, and have "Loose Wire Failures" checked. I have so far logged three flights and they all have a very common denominator. Electrical failure. What causes it and why? Always in my log. I never see anything electrical go off and come back on, other than when I flip on or off the batter master switch or the master avionics. Can someone please share some insight into this with me. FS9/FSX Vista 32, 3.5ghz 2gb ram, 1gb 9400GT vid. Get great frames in both sims and pretty much only fly props and have checked to see that all my planes are supported by .fsr files.

Darrin:

Thanks for the kind words - glad you are enjoying FSFS.

I imagine you are operating your switches according to the checklists - this is great - we love to hear from simmers who go for realistic operation of their aircraft.

We are looking at the problem you've experienced - there appears to be an unwanted relationship between the reporting of an electrical failure and the operation of the Master Battery switch.

Our findings thus far tend to indicate that switching off the battery produces the same internal effect in FS as "an electrical failure" and that is misleading FSFS.

We are working on a solution and should have one soon.

In the meantime, rest assured that the instructor will never mark you down for this - if anything it can only increase the points you score, but that would depend on circumstances.

We are also working on logic for future versions whereby the instructor is keeping a very close eye on your operation of switches and will be ready with advice if they are not set correctly and indeed criticism if operated poorly.

This new section of the program (in development) is both a serious challenge and enormous fun. Just as with the introduction of the monitoring of aircraft lights, the new (general) switch logic really takes the level of concentration required to a whole new level.

Please keep us posted on your experiences with FSFS.
