I think it best if I give some pointers on how to get the most from the "Pilot Errors" count which can now be displayed in FSFS2009 2.2 by pressing the new hotkey. The press release tells us: New Hotkey Pressing Ctrl Shift B provides handy data to the pilot who wants to know current: AGL (above ground level), ground altitude and also displays the count of errors (if any) that the instructor has noted in this flight. To the sharp eyes of these instructors, flying the wrong way for half a second counts as an error so these can add up fast!  To get the most from this data, we must keep in mind that if, for example, the pilot is banking too steeply for say 5 seconds, this will mean the error count will be increased by "10" just for that. Pilot errors are added to this counter every half second and will accumulate very quickly when something is going wrong.
Furthermore, if the pilot is doing more than one thing wrong at the same time then multiple errors will be added to the total each half second. The error count only gives a very rough idea of how well or poorly the flight is going. The actual scoring at the end of the flight takes into account the seriousness of each error in relation to the correct flying of the airplane.  I hope this helps.

Although I've 2 questions/suggestions:
1. Is there a one to one relation between the pilot errorcount and the score? i.c. say I have an errorcount of 45, then my score is also decreased with 45?
2. Is it an idea to save the errorcount also in the pilotlog?

| Jacob: Glad to be able to help! 1. There isn't a one-to-one relationship as the final scores for the flight, landing and possibly the circuit are based on a great number of factors including giving different weights (levels of significance) to different errors. So for example a stall is a lot worse than landing a few knots over your ideal landing speed. 2. Sure - saving it in the pilot log is an interesting idea that we will look at. In essence, we added the "Pilot Errors" key to let the pilot see some raw data, because we thought folks would want to see it if it was available. It's an easy way to see, whenever you like, if the instructor has commented on any problems. BUT the key points are that: 1. They do not represent the final score. 2. If all you did wrong so far in a flight is hold the nose too high for 6 seconds, we will probably have heard the instructor comment on it once, but you will see "12" Pilot Errors.
