Welcome to the forum.

The problem you are experiencing is most commonly caused by FS2004 having been moved on the PC in question.

Some questions:

1. What version of FSFS are you running?

2. Is it registered?

3. Has FSFS run successfully on the PC before?

4. Is your goal to run FS2004 or FSX or both?

5. Can you recall moving your FS2004 installation?

6. Did you uninstall FS2004 at any time?

7. Have you simply deleted FS2004?

8. If it is still in place - what is the full path of the FS2004 program (which folder is it in on your PC)? Please give the full path to the folder. By default this is:
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9"
but I would expect that it is different on your PC.
