I use to lower flaps immidiately after telling FFS that I am landing. That has been no problem before but last time I got an problem entry for this in the logbook. Why? What are the conditions necessary for lowering flaps in time?

Good question! If you are descending in landing mode and you are below 1500 AGL and you are below the highest flap speed and... you have flaps(!)... then FSFS will expect you to have lowered at least some flaps. Usually, you will enter landing mode, which because FSFS uses simplified flight modes simply means you are descending from cruise, and then as you slow down and come closer to the ground you will lower some flaps, before crossing 1500 AGL. Of course in a heavy jet, you will want to continue to lower flaps all the way down 30 degrees or whatever is appropriate for the situation, before landing.

I think those conditions was filled last time since I waited to tell FFS that I was landing until I was aligned up and close to the airport so I could see the PAPI lights and thus tell if I'm at right altitude. Earlier I have got entries for not being aligned with runway or on the glideslope i.e being to high or low.
Another question, do I have to tell FFS that I'm landing before lowering flaps? So far not doing that has resulted in faulty use of flaps logentry.
