The airport has no ILS, I'm squawking VFR, and yet I get this message as I set up for the approach. Any ideas to help me?

Hi there gwplotts.

I can help you. That very message had me puzzled too. Thing is that every non-ils file in your FSFS system, has a glideslope of 3%, unless you write different in the file.

SO when you do a visual landing, the instructor can "see" if you are descending according to that angle, and so he tells you if you are not. To bad he cannot show you, but consider his oral guidence, verbal "needles" to follow down. As long as he shuts up, you are in the pipe, and if he tells you different, just correct the descend.

OK?

Ole,
Thanks for the advice. That's kind of what I thought was going on. Thanks of the quick feedback.

Ole - thanks for jumping in with your expert knowledge - and on a Sunday too!

To all - remember that you can customize the glideslope of any runway in the world by adding a NonILS file for that runway into your NonILS folder - full details are in the manual.

Note that in FSFS2009 this will take precedence over any data generated by FSFS2009 from your Flight Simulator data (full details are in the FSFS2009 manual).

London City, for example, has a real glideslope of 5.5 degrees.
