Hi after a period of disuse I have decided to reinstall FSFlyingSchool. However after installation I keep receiving the following message everytime I try to run the program.
"FSFlyingSchool could not write a copy of the file FSUIPC.DLL into H:\FS9\modules...."
This refers to an old installation of FS and besides I am using FSX, I have FSUIPC (registered version) already installed.
The program does not open once OK is clicked so I cannot reach the setting page to change the path.
What can I do? The path to FSX is properly set in the registry.

DaleHi there flyingsub, and welcome back to the world of FSFlyingSchool. Did you see the highly improved FSFlyingSchool 2009 is out? You have this problem because you once had FS9 installed in the path H:\FS9 and as the FSFS is still in your regestry, it is looking for FS9, which you probably have unstalled, because you now use FSX - am I right? The easiest way to get around this it to make a dir in H: called FS9, go in there and make a dir called modules. Then you can install FSFS without problems, and afterwards you can just delete the FS9 dir.  Why did you have a period of disuse of FSFS or was it disuse of FlightSimulator as a whole?

I have lots of add-ons and just got out of the habit of using it but now that there is a new version I thought that I would take the chance to upgrade.

Dale Can´t you put in an extra harddisk and name it H: or use an external HD and call that one H:? I put in extra discs on my system all the time because I´m too cheap to buy an external one

| You should be able to edit the settings.ini file that will be located in your FSFlyingSchool folder. Find the section that's pointing at H drive and remove it. It'll probably be something like this:
FS2004=H:\FS9\modules... If you don't want to use FS2004 then simply clear it, so it reads:
FS2004= I've copied my entire settings.ini file below as an example. John. ================================= [FS Folders]
FS2002=
FS2004=C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\
FSX=C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\
FlightPlan= [Pilot]
PilotFile= [Misc]
TransitionAltitude=18000
EndFlight=0

Thanks for all of the help, guys. I created an H: drive on a memory stick and solved it that way. Now ordered FSFS 2009 and am eagerly awaiting my activation code (since yesterday!)

You won't be sorry with 2009. Much better adaptation to FSX. Still trying to work the Autopilot rules so that I don't get the penalty. This mornings flight from KIAH-KONT, I forgot about the 5000' rule, and engaged at about 2000'. I'm lovin' the program. Special thanks to all that help me get 'er going.
