Ok...I'm on the WWT tour on a IFR flight from Wash DC to Philadephia....

Should have been less than 1/2 flight....but my favorite FSX ATC apparently lost it's [censored] mind.   Finally at about 70 miles way east of Philly, and at 5000' feet, I gave up on ATC, killed the IFR plan and decided to head back under visual.  Still had my runway 27 tuned in, everything as planned, and Mr. Smith said all the "Where in the hell are you landing....etc"  Even called the towers....gosh dang it...and this time I'm almost 99% positive I advanced to landing mode. errr....

Which almost leads me to believe if he didn't know when i was landing it would result in the are you landing...and all the bad stuff that comes along with it.

Got a big fat zero for my landing score, but thank goodness my flight score was 100+.

So, fellow pilots, what happened.  In fact what was really screwy, was I checked 4 times to make sure I had the right frequency and course headings, but it wasn't matching up at all.

Probably me again, but what is the proper way to go from IFR to VFR using FSFS?

Joe:

I am not very clear on several aspects of the post.

Did you "head back" to your departure airport?

Was a flight plan loaded into FSFS for the airport you finally landed at?

Did you land without an ILS signal active for the runway you landed at?

If you decide that ATC is not very bright today, you can just ignore it. FSFS scoring is not integrated with ATC.

If you are unsure if you have advanced to landing mode, just advance it again, it can do no harm.
